Entering power save mode is simply the message that comes up when it is... entering power save mode. There is nothing unusal about this and it can be set from windows. However, if there is a problem with the monitor or video card (and it is always one of these rather than the computer) - it sometimes thinks it is receiving the command to enter power save mode from Windows, or if it is the video card (make: ATI) it sometimes simply loses the ability to give proper power to the comitor. If this is the case, the monitor doesn't know what to do so trys to use the powers it has... and enters power save mode. I hope this helps you understand it.
Above explains the aspect of the power save mode There are two different places that power management can take over. The first is in BIOS, and make sure you have checked that. The other is in Windows. Both Windows and BIOS have power management, and sometimes, depending a number of factors, these two things can conflict. To turn of Windows Power Management go into the Control Panal and choose Power Options. There will be an option to Turn off Monitor (set to NEVER), Turn of Hard Disks (Set to NEVER) and System Standby (Set to NEVER). This should solve your problem These are my settings - DarkStar PS. dang wrong account - i hate it when this happens-lol
Dont set turn off monitor to never... your problem was system standby and hibernate... hibernate can do this where it gets hung.. turn it off, it's in the same section different tab.. also turning off the HDDs can hang it up, set them to never... but you only have sooo much life in your monitor... make it turn off.
