on saturday when i turned on my comp , i noticed the horrible blue screen of death .. it said UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME , the only thing i could do was format my hard drive ... can someone tell me what it is exactly , and is there any way of avoiding it , ty in advance ^_^
Goes like this: CAUSE 1.The file system is damaged and cannot be mounted. 2.You use a standard 40-wire connector cable to connect the UDMA drive to the controller instead of the required 80-wire, 40-pin cable. 3.The basic input/output system (BIOS) settings are configured to force the faster UDMA modes. Either of 'em. It is more than likely #1. You probably lost or damaged part of the boot sector data causing it to not mount the boot sector properly, thus causing the error. Could be a bad sector, damaged, or something else happened out of the blue.
nah, i re installed windows on my comp , i was just wondering how can i prevent that thing from happening again .. i got ALOT of stuff to replace on my comp now ... (kicks self for not having blank CD'S)
