I think by "oldies" he means new wave and 60's/70's, maybe even 50's music, not 80's-mid 90's rap.

Anyway, I listen to some new wave stuff, it's not really one of my favorite genres though.

Oldies doesnt have to mean that^

Oldies you could classify as Old-School Rap/Hip Hop...

    Anywho. Run DMC FTW

    That, I'll agree with.

Normally when someone uses the term "oldies" they mean new wave or 60's/70's music. When's the last time you heard someone call Run DMC and oldies group? You call them an oldschool rap group.

Wonderful. I've still never heard anyone call Run DMC an oldies group. If you think there's no difference in how you say it, you're misinformed.

This is Off-topic isn't it? Kinda hard to spam if your posts have any relevence. You made yourself perfectly clear, and I made it perfectly clear that it in fact does matter how you say some things; this is one of them.

Oh no. -Rep. That'll shut me up.

And is it just me or was that a bit of mini-modding?

60's/70's? Well, there's a lot to name... I think a couple of the obvious would be Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan. I'm almost a big fan of Judas Priest. Although these I would consider classic rock and not oldies, they are from the 60's and 70's (and Dylan in the 50's as well).
