Good Bye Threads?

why aint they allowed? it seems abit harsh rule seeing as people would like to tell everyone they are becoming inactive etc because if they dont dont you will start getting threads like this:

People who make good bye threads usually never leave.

They only clog up forums too IMO.

I left back in Summer 05 and have just recently come back.

My goodbye thread was pretty big, since I was relieving myself as a mod too.

It turned into a lot of flaming too I was told, and I've seen a lot of 'goodbye' threads do that. The flaming will be over nothing too.
