Question About Photoshop Cs2

I cant figure out how to use the text, whenever I go to type nothing shows up but a little box? How am I pose to type I tryed everything and I cant figure it out and I really wanna start making my sigs again. Please help, and thanks in advance. Here's a pic to show, I type my name but it doesnt show up and ive tryed everything suggested in this thread so far!

 

u r probly dragging it when u click just click once and it will work

 

When you make a new document, make sure the resolution is set to 72.

Resolution should be at 72 when you open a canvas.
Select the normal type tool not vertical or whatever.
Just click once
Set typo to reasonable size and color?

 

See I type my name in but my name doesnt show up? Ive done everything you guys told me.........please help more....

 

are you typing your name in that area where it says vash on the layers palette? You are clicking on the canvas itself and typing right onto that, right?
