I started with 300 by 100's Now is use mainly 340 by 100 ------ 310 by 90 --------- 350 by 110------- I think that the really big sigs make the artist look like a novice, mainly because many of the have huge renders on them. Anyone can throw a render on, blur it, and some effects, and call it awesome. Have you noticed that 90% of all sigs have the same main idea? Try using all defaults, and no renders to make a sig. Usually they come out very nice. Sigs are great, because they represent you, and people want them and see them. But the vast majority of them are a c4d image, a render, some brushing, coloring, and text/border. Unless you are spending over 10 hours on a piece of art, I wouldn't put a lot of pride in it. I prefer largescales, but no-one ever buys largescales, so I still have to mass produce sigs to sell. (just my opinion)
Yeah, but keep in mind the current state of monitors. As people upgrade, the resolution naturally improves. This means what looks nice at 300x100 on a 1024x768 monitor, looks really small (almost insignificant) on a 1280x1024, and absolutely tiny on a 1600x1200. Id say for now around 375x135 should be a happy medium. ^_^
Yup. about that. b4 i used to use 360x90 but it became too small for me. my current is old... now i make 400x150. render fit in better that way and you have more space to do all of the crazy stuff you usally do. but it is a bit harder to find a way to fill you bg that way, altough pro pepole make that easier. i wish to become as good as some pepole that i see in gr... im not even sure if im going the right way.
I start out massive, about 500 x 200 and then find an interensting part in the background, and crop around that.
