Question About Avg And Pci Motherboards

    Right i have atm avg motherboard and i was thinking to replace it with pic express because most of new graphics card ask for that. My question is would i need to replace my ram, or cpu if i wanted to change motherboards ? or is it just gfx card that would have to be changed ?

    Do you mean Agp?

    If you find a mother board that will take your CPU and Ram than yes it will work and all you will need is a PCIexpress GFX card


    What type of CPU and Ram do you have?

    yes i ment agp lol, i always mix with avg lol.

    i have cpu: amd 64 athlon 3700+ and i think its 754 pin one

    and for ram i have 1x 1GB DDR 400 and 1X 512MB DDR 400

    Thanks alot, mhh what brand or type are good for gaming and dont overheat alot ? coz atm gigabyte motherboard i have have overheating issues just like they all do :censored:

    if over heating is an issue, you can buy some good fans :/

    or heat spreaders

    Unless your overclocking and overheating you might want to have a look at your case/cooling setup as well depending on your funds available. A well built/or modified case can make a world of diffrence in temps.


    Also on a side note as goofy as this may sound while you may not have any issues currently mismatched ram has been known to cause some rather odd problems from personal experience.
