I was playing BF2 a couple of days ago, and due to my Y-splitter being faulty, my main hard drive crashed, along with BF2 I was playing at the time. I fix the problem with the Y-splitter, and now I'm trying to play BF2 again. But when I startup a map, I have no mouse or keyboard output whatsoever. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and applied the v1.13 patch 3 times already to no avail.

So I uninstall again, and go into regedit and start deleting all registry entries pertaining to BF2 thinking that would work. It didn't. Supposedly BF2 properly installed, I rebooted, applied the v1.13 patch again, but to my disbelieve, there's absolutely NOTHING in the BF2 folder (default path btw). I try to start the game through my programs, and I get a pop from Windows Security Center saying that BF2.exe was corrupt. I go to control panel to uninstall it, and the uninstall wizard says that the uninstall could not be completed. I go through and delete the registry keys again, but to no avail. I try to delete the EA Games folder, but windows says that it cannot delete and that the directory is not empty.

So, I tried to install it again, and the install wizard says it failed to install, and to please start from the beginning. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Are your system specs up to par with the game? Could be part of the problem =S

Read Patch notes, there is a secondary file you may have to delete when uninstalling BF2.

Or you could do it the easy way and delete the whole folder then just run the uninstall from Add/Remove programs.

Have you tried from Safe Mode yet? Doubt it would do anything...

Also, it isnt really safe to go in and delete your registry files, if it were me, I would never do it unless I know exactly what it is and what it does. If you knew exactly what the did, ill just tell myself to stfu.
