    Hey

So ye about 3weeks ago my laptop stopped holding charge.

Normally i would plug in the power apadtor and the battry wouold charge up and then i took it out and then run for 2hour or something of battery.

But a while ago it just stopped holding the charge.

When i try to turn on my laptop, It does not respond, anything i do, it just stays off, i tryed leaving it for hours but everytime i press the power buttom it does not respond at all.

But when i put in the power adaptor, The charging light flashes once (You know there is two light on the laptop, One which is for charging and one which indicates the laptop is running), So ye i put the plug in, and the charge light flashes once, then both lights stay off, And i can hear the laptops battery running, (when i stick the power in, it always makes a noise which sounds like the battery running, this is normal) But when the power cable is attached and i can hear the battery running, The actually power light still does not come on (ussually when i used to attach the power cable, The charging light stays on), So i press the power button and now the power light comes on, and charge light still stays off, even thought the power cable is in, which means the charge light should be on, even though the battery is runnning.

So ye when the power cable is on the laptop actua;;y works but the charge light does not come on, And then i use my laptop, But as soon as i take that power cable out, the whole PC turn off, although the laptop has been on for like 2 hours, And i have kept that power cable in the laptop the whole time and been using it, as soon as i pull the power cable out the whole thing turns off.

Ussually when i put the power in, Charge light comes on, and then when i take it out it goes off and laptop carrys on running, But now as soon as the take power out whole laptop turns off, and to me it looks like the battery does not hold the chareg. Although if this is the case, wouldnt it mean that the whole laptop wouldnt turn on??? Cos if it dosent hold charge then home come when i ahev the power cable in, the charge light doesnt turn on but the laptop turns on, and when i take charge cable out whole thing turns off.

I hope you guys can help me, and tell me why this has happend.

Is it cos i may have left charge cable in too much or something?? (unlikely)

Its really annoying having 2 sit 2 meters away form the power source so that the laptop stays on, were i have wireless and can go into diff rooms.

Thanx alot for reading and i hope someone can help me :)

If you know its surely a faulty battery then tell me so that i can purchase a new battery form ebay.com where i had originally got my laptop from. Thanx alot :D

What make/model is your laptop? I'm pretty sure it is a faulty battery, I had a laptop that woulden't charge either, so I just replaced the battery and it worked fine.

Just to cover some bases tho, have you cleaned the contacts? The little metal things that touch each other to connect the battery to the laptop? If you haven't, clean them. The battery might not be making a good connection.

If you have cleaned them, you might want to make sure that the battery is inserted properly. Make sure that it is not jammed in sideways, and that it fits flushly with the bottom and sides of the laptop.

If you've done all of those things and it still doesn't work, consider buying a new battery, or taking your old battery to a battery-refurbishment shop to have it refurbished etc. The latter option is a lot cheaper, but sometimes they can't refurbish it if it is in too bad of shape.

If you need any more help, please feel free to contact me on AIM at awjvail, or by PM on Gamerenders B) Hope that helped.

Hmm I'll take a look on some sites to see if I can come up with any troubleshooting aimed specificly for that model, so gimme a few mins.

What country are you in? UK, US, etc? Just so I know where to look to see if I can find you a good deal on a replacement battery.

The battery is most likely dead. This has happened to my old Tobisha that I have had for like 6 years. rechargable batteries dont last forever, especially if they are in constant use.

Warning: Batteries are expensive... usually around $100.

I looked around, Couldn't find any battaries compatible for your specific laptop on the big *Trusted* sites.

Cheapest one I could find was about $113, but it looks like an untrustable website. Next one I found was $159.99, and the site seemed a bit more trustable. Haven't looked on EBAY yet, I'll see.

    Merged Post:

Some EBAY auctions for the battery-
