I think my RAM is fine but my video card and cpu are going to keep me from running source engine games smoothly. Am I correct?

youd need a new system, literally..

    P4's suck at performance

    your intigrated video rots

most source games need 2gb of ram at least..

You are correct, you could though run them on low with all the eye candy taken out in the configs fine.

You dont need atleast 2 GB, i run on 1 fine with everything maxed out and alot of people can run them on a 512, 2GB would be better though but not atleast 2GB.

he more or less hit it dead on.

2.4-2.6GHz p4 should be considered low for it, 3.2 or higher prefered or a 1.8GHz athlon 64(2800+ or 3000+ depending)

    ram is sufficient

you need more than int GFX though.

your wrong i can run CSS, MSN, Skype, AIM at the same time with 512 ram

BTK get a proccessor with 3GHz

a cheap graphics card that will work would be a radeon 9250

i dont know what type you have AGP PCI or PCI-e so I cant realy recomend you one, but geforce has better graphics cards

You need a new graphic-card, Intergrated graphics are crap.

just get an ATI Radeon 9600XT or summin, not expensive and works great for those games.

512-1024 RAM will do you just fine... It seems as if thought your graphics card is your majour issue. I would recommend a ATi Radeon 9600 or 9800 (AGP) as they will do the job for you very nicely for a not so big price.
