5:27am, sitting here at my desk and sure enough, the ground goes rolling by underneath me. Interesting feeling.

Normally here in California we get the ones that shake you back and forth, but this one just kinda rolled. Only a 2.9, but it was only 2 miles below the surface, so it was felt fairly strong.

Obviously no damage, just a momentary pause when one has to ask themself...is this going to go on and get stronger, and if so, do I need to get up and hit a safer spot, or am I cool to continue sit here and browsing the net.

Update! First reading was wrong, not a 2.9, but a 4.7 quake. Thats the kind that knocks stuff off shelves/walls, etc.

Their a bit scary the very first time.

You live in an area like I do though, and you get used to them. Though this is bigger then they normally are, normally we dont even feel them, but this one was felt pretty strongly because it was only 2 miles below the surface.

We do get them silly. They are just like 0.something on the rictor scale so we don't feel them.

I never felt one before, but I hope I never do. I guess some people feel it as a joy ride, like when Hurricanes hit, they go surfing -_-

Cali isnt going to break off and become an island, thats just some dumb rumor. However what will happen is that slowly the land is moving north...so little by little California moves closer to places like Washington.

Here in Southern Cali, we're supposedly waiting for the "big" one to hit and we're long overdue. :(

You do, only a slight tremor though like from an earthquake in Japan or summat.
