Which Laptop Processor?

    im trying to think if i should get dell's 17" laptop with intel core duo (1.66) Ghz or if i sould get hp's 17 in with amd turion 64 bit (1.8) Ghz. what do you guys think?

    core duo. if you tons of patience, wait for the Core 2 Duo Merom

    Depends on what you use it for...Duo Core would drain the battery life faster so yeah...

    battery life is more dependent on other system components moreso than the proc in this case.

    is that turion dual core? if not go for the core duo. You might not get as high of FPS with it, but the fact that it's dualc ore does make general windows useage much nicer.

    I'd go with the HP. The dual-core model is still a Dell. I couldn't find it in myself to trust it.
    Is there even a version of Windows coded to take advantage of dual-core processing? Not to sound like a moron-- I honestly don't know.

    I'd rather get an Acer with a core duo, they do look nicer, and are less expensive..

    thats the point of the core duo, its effecient, fast, and yeah. its a mobile proessor dream.
