Abuse Of Rep System.

There really needs to be an extra something done about abusing the rep system.

Things like:

Pointless things.

They're just using the rep system as an alternate way to say, "Hey, I don't understand life. I really have no friends off the internet, so I don't like you. NEG REP KEKE@!1!1."

Some things put in place could be things such as; reputation for ONLY things pertaining to selling, such as an eBay like system. That's really what most people use it for anyways, to tell if someone is reliable or not, but if you get spammed by idiots like aznsushiguy, you may seem unreliable based off a completely different subject (in which said case the user wasn't even involved!).

Perhaps reputation could only be given by members with the minimum post count already set, and maybe a minimum of 'x' positive rep.

Or a limit on how much rep you can give out per month PERIOD, not just per user.

Right now the over abuse of the rep system is getting out of hand, I see it used incorrectly everywhere, and I just feel something needs to be done about it.

If that isn't abuse, then I better start spamming negative reputation everywhere. Threats in rep? Man, I thought him telling me he was going to e-beat me up was harsh!

 

If your an ass, then you should be -repped. If speaking your mind means offending others, then you get a -rep...

 

No, it's bigotry like that which is unnesessary.

If someone disagrees with someone, and they say something like 'Man, you're dumb.'

Everyone jumps like he just called him the devil, and gives the guy (or girl) negative rep. Do you not see the foul up in that system?

How about we incarcerate you for saying 'ass'?

Another fine point in the first rep I quoted. At the bottom he clearly states "IF YOU REVENGE -Rep me I'LL GET A MOD ON THIS", thus showing his intention of only giving out the negative reputation because he wanted me to look bad, not because he had an earnest reason.

 

Well, neg repping someone just for neg reping you is against the rules. If you cuss people out for no apparent reason, you should be neg repped. If it be a petty reason, then report them to a mod. I've had two removed because they were for petty reasons.

 

PM a mod/admin about this if they feel the rep is not warranted they will remove it

Going to look into making sure we fine people a certain amount of credits when they abuse the rep system. Thanks for bringing this up as yes, it is a problem and it needs to be taken care of.
