    Hi,
Firstly, im on Bt broadband with a safecom router.

During the day, my router can be unplugged for 2+ hrs, and whenever i plug it back in the internet doesnt work (i.e. load web pages) but uTorrent can connect to the internet.

Any suggestions, im sick of restarting

    Repair connection
Go to Start, Control Panel, Network connections.

Right click on one and repair.

see if that helps at all..

If repair doesn't work, try removing the power plug from your router until the wireless network icon on your taskbar turns red. The moment you see it turn red, plug the power back into your router. Should work than. If not, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and explain to them your problem, they should be able to help your situation if you be more specific. Hope this helped.

    Snipe. ;)

Find the little reset button on the back of the router. Press it.

It gets connected everyday as my dad uses a different router to connect to his companys vpn (dont even get me started on this issue) and repair, reset router etc dont work, the only thing that does is physically reseting the computer.

Edit: I turned of zonealarm and the internet sprung back to life...must be magic!

Are you using XP? if so, just remove zonealarm. XP has it's own firewall, I believe.
