Al-zarqawi Killed In Airstrike

Well, I read a new story this morning on CNN that al-Zarqawi was killed yesterday by a US airstrike. He was "reported" to have beheaded some of the American hostages during the occupation of Iraq.

Do you think that this blow to the self proclamed leader of al Qaeda will make the transition of Iraqi leadership easier?

Or do you think the next person in line will step up and increase the attacks against the US and Iraqi forces?


This is for dicussion, not flaming or bad mouthing anyones race, nationality etc. Keep this discussion on a professional level or fines/suspensions will be handed out.

 

It's hard to say whether he was really calling the shots in the Sunni triangle's little 'retaliation' blows (car bombs, etc) or if those were just more radicals and extremists.
I'm hoping the transition to its' new government by Iraq goes smoother so we can get our boys out of there, but it's hard to say.

In any case, that's one more filty extremist rat sent to hell at US hands, and that's okay with me.

 

Whoa, This is big that he is dead now. Finaly, but did any civilians get killed by the airstrike?

 

They did not say in the report if "civilians" died, they said

Exactly this is whats going to happen as far as I am concerned about it. As happened before too, this is what happens all the time when Iraqi kills an American the American kill the Iraqi. Well sorry because I really dont have that much knowledge on these war/whatever you may call it debates. So I might say that anything happens only one thing should'nt happen and that is innocent people getting killed, people flamming each other for being a Muslim, Christan, Jew etc. Politics should remain to Polititions themselves.

As Much as it is good news that ppl like that are dead it's never gonna end infact there right it probably would make it worse i hope it makes the government smoother though we gotat get uk and us troops outa there soon

i saw this on the tv just now..

it made me think about hw we could scrafice the lives of a few people but if it was out Priminitser (or ur President) then they wud do anything to get them..

actually, after his death, I think things will start to settle down over there for a little while.

 

This good be both a good and a bad thing, it is hard to tell yet.
