Ok well i dont know when it started but all of a sudden i noticed ive been downloading files at the speed of dial up like 5-7kb per second and pages loading slow etc...my computer used to go at like 256-300kb per sec and pages loaded faster and i know its not the internet thats making it slow...Its all these virus's.. i scanned my comp on spybot search and destory. and on the bottem it names the files as you go threw them so i looked and i saw Hacker.ag Spyarsenal.somthingafterit perfect keylogger spywaresherif ispynow yahoologger. etc... but they didnt show up when on the thing to delete them. anyway im really concerned so i did a system restore and that did nothing except remove my photoshop cs2...which i cant make sigs now and i scanned with mcafee and still it dosnt see the things i listed above.. so what can i do is there any possible way to fix this? please post here and note : i suck with computers so if you are willing to and you know how to fix this please give me an indepth detailed description of what to do\what to delete and what not to. Ty so much if this is legitly fixed i will give whoever made it fixed 500 credits as well. Thanks for your time. I have to go to bed now so I hope to see some results when i wake up.

first thing first temporarily disable system restore(anything in there is write protected and can't be deleted so it will just procreate itself) then boot onto your system in sfemode and run EVERYTHING below and anything else you can think of.(press f8 on widnows startup to get the option)

alright you need more duplicity to begin. Try using adaway in suplication to spybot

    also try windows defender
    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s...re/default.mspx

then try a good anti virus like avast
    http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition...4-10375520.html

and a registry cleaner like CCleaner
    http://www.download.com/3000-2144_4-10315544.html

toss on a fire wall and disable anything which might be sucking bandwidth
    http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm/3000-104...tml?tag=lst-0-5

after all that crap run msconfig(start>>run "msconfig") and disabel anything even remotely suspicious.

if none of this works, look into doing a system repair(get the same windows disc and plug it in and it's more or less self explaatory)

Exacly what he said, get ad-aware, avast (I got got it to) and a good firewall, ie, zonealarm, like xlink said. The only think I'd like to add is regcleaner:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download460.html

Just run it once a month and you'll be fine.

Hit F8 or F9, when starting your PC it will say it, just hit F8, that should work since its standard. Download the antivirus before you go to the safe mode and after you scanned you can get out save mode just by restarting your PC. Im not sure what you mean with disable system restore?

and if none of that stuff works (system repair, safemode ----), a clean reformat will do the trick... Ill look around for i think ?darkstar's? reformatting tutorial.

you get out of safe mode automatically, as far as I know there isn't much fo a standard way to be "stuck" in safemode.

for system restore, right click my computer>>properties>> system restore check there

Actually to get out of safe mode if he goes from run>msconfig he would need to go back to there and click on the boot.ini tab and select normal startup. If not then it will continue to boot in safe mode.

read xlink post: for system restore you have to check turn off and then once you are done check it back so system restore is back up and 1st thing I would do is create a restore point once everything is cleared up.

My internet went off all day while i was downloading the 3rd link...so i havnt even got to try anything yet kinda mad. i finaly got it up again though so once i finish downloading i will post results

Edit: also thanks everyone for the help so far and thanks for the guide to reformating.. i probably wont do it because i have no idea what files to keep and what not to keep its like jibberish to me. So i will probably just take it to bestbuy and give them the startup disks or somthing and they will reformat.

Wrong. Unless you version of Windows is modified and different (doubt it), after you reboot, it will either automaticly boot Windows normally, or bring you to the screen before Windows loads and give you the choice of 'Normal', 'Safemode',... etc..

ahh well im a newb too, but if it tells you where the file is when you scan, i would find it on my computer, if you can delete it do it, if you cant, it probly running, so you press ctrl alt delete and find it and end proccess, then delete, if you still cant, try distorting it by maybe changing the file name, searching on your computer by going

    start>search>all files or folders

then search for the file, like yahoo keylogger, and delete all the files you know you dont need, then recycle bin and delete totaly

then just to make sure run ad-aware and other virus scans again

and just to let you know, keyloggers detect every thing you typed

ex. your gr password, so yeah some1 knows all the password you've typed in since you've got this virus..which realy sucks and who ever does this stuff is a no-lifed dick
