Over 3 million people have died last year because of AIDs. Twenty-two have died worldwide from AIDs. By the year 2010, 80 million persons could be dead of AIDS. That is a greater loss than the total amount of civilian and military casualities lost in WWII. Africa hold about 70% of infected people there. About 600,000 children were born with AIDs each year. In the year 2002, the United States put $469 million in prevention and health infrastructure, and $50 million for a pilot treatment program for those who already suffer from HIV/AIDS. So what will we do? How should we stop this? It's an amazingly huge killer... So it's your opinion I'm looking for. Keep forking in the hundreds of millions of dollars to aid in fundings. Or kill the virus, by letting the victims of it just die. ------------------------------------------ My personal choice is to let the remaining die. Will it happen? I doubt it. For that to be possible..it just wont happen. Unless the government can pull something off behind the curtain, where not too many will know except for the higher-up rankins in the country(s?). If you really think about the big picture, letting them die. Yes, it is horrible. What is even more horrible? Having ten's of millions more die over the next few years because of it also. Having millions of dollars wasted on funding, when they may not ever find a cure, or not for a very long time. Are they really close to a cure? I doubt it, but hearing that makes you want to keep donating to help doesn't it? I am not trying to be cruel or ignorant, this is my view. Finding a cure would mean people not getting so worked out about this disease, therefore not carying so much about what they'll be risking. On the other side, think that among those people that died from AIDS are surely people that died because of circumstances that they could not control (i'll let your imagination do the rest), therefore it wouldn't be their fault.
Thats exactly what I think.. One generations dies for many more... It's a sacrafice that should, but wont be done.
and to think....all this started with one person doing a monkey anyways...i dont know what to think... if we let it go without meds, it might spread more...or it might not. but it seems cruel to just let people die...although its their fault in the first place
It's not their fault for all of them..example, the kids who are born with AIDs, parents fault. and then theres some that just get blood on them somehow, and they can get aids like that.
why would somebody in Afica have sex with somebody else in Afica with aids? i dont get it. they didnt know maybe?
how can u say let it die out, thats basically impossible. By doing that they arent just gonna stop, if you do that its just gonna keep spreading. The only way is keep looking for a cure and try and educate everyone that doesnt know about it!

alot of people in africa believe that having sex with a virgin will cure thier aids, as we know that is not the truth but they dont, so we shld try and educate them about it.
