agp 2.0 is theoeretically compatable(and only theoretically I've seen some systems running(two fo my friends running radeon 9xxx cards) agp 3.0 fine and others, like my mothers not even accepting the card) with 3.0 cards. I wouldn't guarantee that a 3.0 card would work but check around and read reviews. what's your price range? if it's relatively high it might be one of those dreaded, upgrade-one-part-to-the-next-rrequiring-the-next-and-so-on scenarios, but we'll see(the above being unlikely though so don't worry) for the record, I beleive a radeon 9250 capable of playing wow(it plays hl2 medium low) and that's the ebst PCI card and PCI offers absolute shid...
I personally would have to check what's the best abng/$ 9800Pro isn't bad but I think you could get better bang/$ out of saya 6600GT or something, I'd have to check

IN ORDER OF PRICE radeon 9550(expect medium settings) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...2169045&CatId=0 radeon x700 (medium-high) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...1908145&CatId=0 TD doesn't have the best of selection like newegg but those are fairly good for their cost... if you OC the x700 to 475mhz core and 1050(which wont' be happeneing[stock 600] but still) you essentially have an x700XT
