One of the permanent things in the world is change and how can something progress without deviating from the original things.

back when there were around 30,000 members (yes I was a member then. I got banned for spamming my ass off) GR was amazing. Now, its so different:(.

    Merged Post:

The mods, almost, NEVER try to investigate scams, fully!

They banned me 3 times....and later found out that someone else was the culprit. They didn't even have the courage to apologize!

Yeah, but you dont own us. You own the space, the skin and the domain, not the members.

At the beginning of your "rule" you said you wanted to improve this place.
Now does this plave improve by advertising another site? Dont think so.
Well maybe your not very familiar with big forums, i can understand that you need your time before you can make right decisions.

This comment made you look like 4 years old girl that doesnt get its new barbie doll and is becoming pissed for that reason...

guys guys guys....dont you have nething better to do that wrag on shaggy and the rest of the staff,I have read 5-6 different threads now and they are all saying the same thing,Shaggy's done this, the mods are doing that,GR isnt the same as it was....GR would'nt be here if it was'nt for the members and the members make GR,I personally think that it is the members of Gr that has made this site different from what it was not the staff,Members here now are only interested in moaning, flaming and abusing other members. We as members of GR make this site and we as members break this site not the staff, its upto you guys to make this site great again not just the staff,as i have stated before i think all staff here are doing great work to try to get this great site back to how it was and we need to help them do it not make it harder for them....

    I really agree to this

I have been here when most of the best members and the legendary members were here - Most of them left because there was a certain influx of 'memberse' that werent behaving and were basically being stupid in harsh terms

Hence they left and look at it now - Having like 300 members a day and back then it use to have 800 odd

Well GR had its ups and downs but bare in mind - IF there wasnt GR - There would not have the renders u see , The community that you see and talk to , THere wouldn't even have a buying or selling of stuff

SO these threads should be closed - Do not incite the arguement again please

Doesnt benefit the site? Advertising options were always here, even with Llama, and yes, even e-mail advertising. Im sure shout asked Llama and he denied because he knows that many GR members dislike shout and shout is like a wannabe GR. Shaggy, on the other hand, did not have the benefit of this information, to him, it was just another site, paying their money for their advertising. All of you guys who are criticizing Shaggy and him not doing his job, do me a favor, you go buy a dedicated server and you make a site like GR at over 2 million posts and 70,000 members in under 2 years, see how easy it is and how much money it takes to run. Then you can come back here and shut up because you couldnt do it, especially without different forms of advertising.

I was gone because of personal issues when this topic was posted, and throughout most of its life. I came across it earlier tonight, and began reading - I've read all 23 pages, and have a few things to say.

Llamaman(Joe) was an amazing Adminstrator. He was younger, mature, and very clear headed - there is no doubt about that. What he created is amazing here. He sold it because just as GameRenders is moving away from what people remember it as, he is moving on in his educational-life.

When shaggy first became part of GameRenders, I thought fresh blood would be good for the community, and I was right in some regards. Shaggy has introduced new competitions, new staff members, and listened to a bulk of the members in most regards. He has not been very active lately, and I get frustrated; but thats expected with his new baby and other commitments.

Blazeman, Dementia, and others seem disappointed in how the selection of staff was done; especially in the case of SwAT & LogicalyImpaired. Let me give you a little GameRenders history:

The first Global Moderator was sensi, followed by sD-Dark. Sensi was hired by Nedstar, who was a temporary Adminstrator as Llamaman had surgery. He was very good friends with sensi, and sD-Dark - which is what got them the job. Later on, Guinness70 was hired because of his tremendous work to GameRenders and to make it better. The stuff he did to GameRenders is still used today, everyday. From Cool3d, to Sig of the Week rules. Guinness70 make recommendations on who else should be hired as Global Moderator, and a team began to be born. bratzer, Gez, Bona Fide, Flamesy(Trance), Gyabusa(G72), and GIOTEC were all hired based on Guinness70's recommendations. These members, known for one or two things, were not well known to a bulk of the GameRender members. I recall when G72 was announced as a Global Moderator, people asked who the heck this guy was!

A bulk of these global moderators who were hired stepped down for various reasons, or were removed/retired because of inactivity. Before they left, they made recommendations for staff - and alot of the current Global Moderators were hired. I was recommended by sensi, Guinness70, Bona Fide, G72, and GIOTEC. blackfuse, Girly, 4nub1s, HydrogeN, and Renagade were hired based on the recommendations of Bona Fide and myself, and a few other loose recommendations of other active Global Moderators.

The point I am trying to make is the most active members of the board are those who have to moderate it a bulk of the time. They will not be the most active in terms of posting, but the behind the scenes work is amazingly large. Before recent additions of the Scammers & Rippers/Rep Abuse forums, I personally had to answer over 75 PMs a day, and can only imagine how many my fellow global moderators & the adminstrators received. Staff members are chosen based on their activity on the forum, commitment to the website(often no personal website before being hired), maturity level, reputation, and how they have responded to incidents in the past. Logicaly & SwAT are good friends of mine, I will not try to gloat is in any other way...as in Marforce, even if he is canadian! If I am such a bad person to get advice from, how come Logicaly, SwAT, and Marforce do such an excellent job at their new positions?

We have to create rules that think of the interest of a bulk of the active members, all the inactive members, and all the future members here. In this case, such rules as no steam accounts, tutorial selling, and other rules come into play because of past activities of your fellow peers. I personally love buying steam accounts and have NEVER had an issue - but because of members in the past, they are now blocked.

Throughout this topic I see references of: members receiving favoritism, Global Moderators being unfair, Blazeman whining about not receiving a staff spot, shaggy advertising his sites or other sites for money, members leaving, and how GameRenders is going downhill(which is also the name of the topic).

Favoritism is not shown to anyone in my opinion. It may seem like that in some cases, but rarely does the normal members see both sides of every situation. A member being banned for rudeness or advertising a 'joke' website may seem quite unfair. Does a normal member see the 80% warning, know of the responses between staff members and this member, or the fact he/she has been suspended on numerous other cases? We are volunteers and do not see every post, topic, remark, IM, PM, or signature/avatar. We rely on what we can see when we are on, and what members report to us.

Global Moderators will always be deemed unfair by those who have been suspended, warned, banned, or had a friend in the same position. This is allowing personal experiences to step into your opinion, and making you bias towards that staff member. We enforce the rules, and thats never a favorite position.

Blazeman, sense you opened and responded to this case of worms, I am going to tell you some of my opinions and observations: the same opinions and observations that had Renagade, Girly, 4nub1s, HydrogeN, logicaly, and SwAT hired. Your rude, and power hungry. Your the main reason why reputation is useless on this website because of your continuous reputation abuse. You are not mature, your grammar sucks, and you were given a chance as a staff member - you received it because you sucked up to BiG Dave, and were not qualified to be an IRC Moderator. You were hired the same way Logicaly, SwAT, and Marforce were hired - they turned out to be good choices, you did not. After that, GameRenders went downhill for you. You decided to make your own site, and pay people to post there. Apex is your mouthpiece, and the only reason he despises myself and other staff members is because he listens to your bull---- stories.

Shaggy owns GameRenders, and may advertise whatever he wishes on here. It may piss off some members, yes - but Llamaman did it just as much as shaggy has, did anyone complain then? Nope. The mass email was a mistake, and will not happen again(shaggy's words).

Members will always leave; some will return, others wll not. Their reasons could be for alot of things, or something small and mute. As for members like Kazuya and Jay being a postive impact to GameRenders - I think you give credit where its not deserved. These members choose to leave GameRenders, to abandon the community here - and this website is NOTHING, without the member base.

Kazuya is a great guy, no doubt. Talented, and an amazing renderer; but horribly large ego, and whined like a baby when he did not receive Sectional Moderator. Jay left because he did not have enough access/power, and was mad SwAT was bumped up to Global Moderator over him. Jay is a nice guy as well(a fellow WoW player at that), but again - he choose to leave whatever his reason, and that was his choice.

For every old member who leaves, 20 new popular members join the ranks of GameRenders. Though I liked the old GameRenders(at least from when I was active), sites change.

Now to address something that was mentioned several times: how negative my influence has been to GameRenders, and how I should be removed. The only thing I am going to point out that instead of going around saying how bad GameRenders is getting, I have actually given suggestions for new features, suggestions for things currently in place, listened to members/and also done well over 5,000 moderator actions.

If you wish to say I am a bad moderator, or how bad GameRenders is getting - stop complaining and make useful suggestions. Feel free to use my topic as reference of what I have tried to do for GameRenders, because I can assure you - I have done more, spent more, and tried more to improve GameRenders then a bulk of the individuals who attack me. My reputation speaks for me, and unlike Blazeman and other individuals, I do not talk ---- behind your back - I will say it to your face, or I did not say it. I do often get irriated when it comes to GR situations, but thats mostly because of the members here. The community as a whole has gotten credit hungry, forgotten its roots(getting tired of all these 'semi-pro' threads), but at least I post my suggestions and still remember GR.

    Example #1

    Example #2

    Example #3

Late reply, but I felt this was needed.
