watch what you get from tigerdirect on the higher quality items ( like the X2's ) they can be more than ~100$ above what ncix is at so it'd be best to shop around

buy a pentium d 820, and a good zalman cooler. it can be overclocked to the performance of an FX-60, and is hella cheap.

Also, 1GB atleast of ram. and maybe a (evga) 6600GT.

For mobo, i would say an Asus, or (an up comming good one), biostar. ive gottena few good t series boards from it, for amd.

    and, of course, onboard sound.

find that at where ever, great psu.

I cincencerly doubt you can get 4.4-5GHz out of an 820 without rather lucrative cooling so that's a bit innaccurate, absolute bang/$ the 805 is a bit of a better buy on the whole though, even still though your recomendation of the 820 is malinformed, the 930 OCs better, runs cooler, has mroe cache(though it doesn't impact performance THAT much), isn't really any more in cost(cheaper than the 930) and has a higher multiplier.

after inte's mass price drops they are significantly better place with AMD in terms of bang/$ and OC compareably(when in the under 400 range the relative clock speed of the athlons raises too fast to be much accurate past that point)

again though, WAIT... the core2 duos(conroe) are exceptionally good.

well... TGdirect is like the only site.. and in two weeks intel's conroe processor comes out and it's really powerful, that' why everyone (myself included) is saying to wait... and no motherboard prices will not drop when it comes out, just proc prices.

Alright, I'll wait until that comes out because I need this fairly cheap, and plus, I'd like to go with AMD if I could, just cause I'm going to be gaming alot, but if someone thinks the Intel 805's are better (I'm definitly going to OC) for OCing, then I'll get that...

the 805s are better bang/$ but won't offer the performance of an opteron 165...

BUT... Intel's conroe more or less oblliterates AMD's current offerings, the 2.4GHz version of conroe beats out an FX62 by a fair margin. In terms of core architecture, conroe is more similar to the athlons than the p4 in terms of clock speed and IPCs though it it more ro less a p4 and a PM canibalized together, it again performs VERY WELL.

Since no one else would at least get me a list of parts, I did it myself. I went with these:

    http://click2host.us/005/mycomputerspecs.bmp

I went with the Intel 805D for overclocking, heard it was good, like a 20x multiplyer...

    Any good?

So you're not going to wait? You'll see that the processor you are buying now, will be nothing worth within 3 weeks. I'd say wait but if you want to buy it now, get it. Are you sure all parts are compatible?
