http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814131007 Anybody else have any problems with this? I don't plan on overclocking or anything of that sort. I just want to be able to play some of the newer games.
It's a good card, I got it by connect3d, good stuff..I payed 180 for mine bout 6 months ago so enjoy...-.-
it isn't bad, though if you are willing to fvck with a rebate this is better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102684 has twice the vram(not that it matters really) costs the same post rebate, has a better cooler, and is made by a more renowned company. the only disadvantages would eb that it requires two slots as opposed to one, that you have to f' witha rebate, and that it might technically cost like 2$ more after taxes if applicable. I'd go for it though if I can verify that the rebate is still valid. either way you can't really go wrong though.
airflow wise it shouldn't really affect case flow much more than the other, remember it takes up more room width wise not length wise so the only disadvantage is that it would block a PCI-e x1, x2, or x4 slot, but as of this moment those are mostly useless anyway. if you absolutely can't spare the space, yours still certainly offers excellent bang/$
Here's a question though, will I be able to play THESIV: Oblivion and such at decent settings? Hell even low would suffice. you'de need more ram to play oblivion well, and with an x800GTO you would meet the recomended requirements for the video card. your sytem ram would be the bottle neck.
youd want atleast 1gb for it you currently have half that(512mb) recomendation... more ram... newegg.com memory ddr400sdram
No I have 1 Gig. 2 DIMM's of 512mb. SEE: DIMM #3 General Memory type DDR2 Manufacturer (ID) Infineon (C100000000000000) Size 512 MBytes DIMM #1 General Memory type DDR2 Manufacturer (ID) Infineon (C100000000000000) Size 512 MBytes
yea, he got 1gb Idk how oblivion will run tho, if you dont run it at high settings you should be ok... I got 1gb and an x2 4200+ (x800gto gfx card too...) and I doubt I'd be able to crank up the settings too much because of the 1gb ram. If you ever can get 2gb's for the future, that'd be good..but for now, go for that gfx card and just test it out..
