Ok, so ive decided im not going to do all that much OCing because of my complete incompitense in that area and i would probably start the comp on fire =). But yah. . .im still looking upon the pieces and im still wondering if anyone has a guide on what to look for on what? Thanks
big part is reviews on it. otherwise, its just knowing that certain companies are excellent, like ASUS, G.Skill, etc...
everyone knows intles have turned to garbage =). I really wish everything was the same. . . it would be so much easier
That is already confirmed at super pi, an overclocked conroe did it in 13 seconds, versus an overclocked fx60 in 18 seconds...
superpi is a tool which has your computer calculate the digits of pi from 16,000 all the way to 32m... he was refering to the time it took to calculate pi to 1M as being 12.9s(I've seen people get it below 12.0 though) which is pheominally good... my overclocked opteron(slightly beyond Athlon fx60/X2 5200+ in clock speed[GHz]) gets 1M in the low 30s... that means that in superpi, an overclocked Core 2 duo outperforms my Opteron by over 2:1, which is excellent(I'm sure conroe was designed specifically to get a good super pi score[so the comparison isn't quite as relevant] but still) on the whole conroe seems to be an increadibly good performer...
