Should i or should i not remove windows media center edition from HP from my comp? and intall xp home? My sound and mic is screwed up cause of there settings, the downfall it never came with a damn media center disk...
Dude, why would you drop from a Pro base to Home Edition... it would give you the same damned troubles. It also would be ----tier.. why would you even concider that... your mic issues can be fixed.. what sound you got and is it a USB mic?
Its a mic that plugs into the front ports headphones/mic/ect. Merged Post: Well is it possible to wipe everything but the OS off my hdd?
Explain plz Merged Post: I have the |HP recovery partion, so does this wipeeverything but my OS? i dont want the crap HP offers on it.
press f10 on startup you retard, done. and yes i wipes everything... leaves it (software wise) the same as the day you got it, so backup your ----. should solve any software issues. if your hardware is f'ed up then that's what you get for choosing a so-so company insteed of doing it yourself... edit: FYI MCE dopes leeve a few things from pro out... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertz...117_ez_mce.mspx
Atleast make sure that your ports are working - lolz Or even the mic is working Check your sound settings first before switching - And as Xelink said - thats what you get for going for a company based desktops hehe
No Darkstar, if someone wants to get rid of Media Center Edition, you encourage him. .Twizted, do you have a Windows XP Home Edition Install Disc?
Shin, this time you are wrong.. MCE is so much better than Pro. I recently upgraded to MCE, its alot better.
Just delete it all... Why do you want to get rid of it anyway? It won't be that that's causing your problem, I almost guarantee it. Have you tried the hardware troubleshooter? Make sure you update your soundcard drivers.
Since EVERYONE must know... go here... http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/editio...-pro/media.mspx One small thing... and it can be edited back in.
WITH THE MEDIA CENTER PART. Dude, it will be a green button with the Flag in the middle... it will say Media Center... it will also require a TV tuner and since you got it from HP I know it came with it.
