Dude, why would you drop from a Pro base to Home Edition... it would give you the same damned troubles. It also would be ----tier.. why would you even concider that... your mic issues can be fixed.. what sound you got and is it a USB mic?

press f10 on startup you retard, done.

and yes i wipes everything... leaves it (software wise) the same as the day you got it, so backup your ----. should solve any software issues. if your hardware is f'ed up then that's what you get for choosing a so-so company insteed of doing it yourself...

edit: FYI MCE dopes leeve a few things from pro out...

No Darkstar, if someone wants to get rid of Media Center Edition, you encourage him.

Just delete it all... Why do you want to get rid of it anyway? It won't be that that's causing your problem, I almost guarantee it.

Have you tried the hardware troubleshooter? Make sure you update your soundcard drivers.

    WITH THE MEDIA CENTER PART.

Dude, it will be a green button with the Flag in the middle... it will say Media Center... it will also require a TV tuner and since you got it from HP I know it came with it.
