Heres an idea to all you pissed off members: next time you sign up for a forum, uncheck the "allow administrators to e-mail you" button. Since you didn't uncheck it, he can e-mail you any time he wants.

It was crappy to spam us all with an advertisement for another site, I was a little disappointed. I don't want my email going out to other web sites and the what not.

And to all those saying it's his site, yes that's true but if members start getting pissed off it won't be the same.

your e-mail wasnt released for gods sake, it was sent from GR, by allowing yourself e-mails from the admins you are allowing ANYTHING the admin feels like e-mailing you and this admin was paid to send information about a site contest for another site, its a form of advertising, one of the few things that helps bring in the money that keeps this site alive.

Nowhere in the sign up or management files does it state what he can and cannot send (except for ofcourse adult rated material and such), if you dont like getting e-mails advertising a contest at another site from the GR admins then too bad, its because of a few of you member unwilling to pay for memberships and help pickup the pay that he is forced to sell advertising like this to even help keep this site up FOR YOU.

Guys, There are some dumb immuture assholes here. Give shaggy a break, he made a mistake, which isnt really even a mistake in my opinion.
You guys are acting like he sold your email to a Spyware company and installed ---- on your PCs, I really wanna see one of you bitchs TRY and take shaggy to court about this. So the judge can look at you and laugh then tell you to grow the ---- up. Dont refer to the terms of service as you read them and understand them. Shaggy didnt sell your emails to anyone, no data was released. No to mention all the $400 is being offered as rewards in compititions or being cycled back into the forum in someway. I run my own forum, and know that google ads dont make you any money really, they barely cover server costs.

All you guys seem to forget Shaggy owns this place, being and making him feel bad isnt gonna make him leave and I really hope he doesnt leave cause hes a great admin. But if you guys do force him out somehow....The site is gone, he owns the site, and can shut it down when ever he wants.

    Shaggy for president!!

I honestly didn't mind the e-mail. It gave my new delete key a breaking-in. I can see why people were angry - I would be too; I subscribed to www.gamerenders.com, not www.shoutgfx.com. However, it's nothing different from selling advertisements, so no big deal. Had he given out my e-mail address, problems would start. In short - no big deal. I don't care.

I should make it clear that I'm not angry, just a little disappointed. It's not that big a deal, just something I don't wish to occur again.
