Thanks everyone. Update: These three GFX cards seem great, but I cant decide wich one to get. Heres the first: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...l?sap-x16p5&P=4 The second: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...?nov-gf6625&P=0 And the third: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...?nov-6625gt&P=1 So, which is the best? I know that 1# is 512MB and 2# and 3# are only 256MB, but it looks like 1# could have less key features, but I could be wrong. Why is this 256MB card, http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...?nov-6625gt&P=1 So much more expensive than this 256MB card? http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...?nov-gf6625&P=0 Is this 512MB model: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...l?sap-x16p5&P=4 Better than the other 2 cards? If so why is it cheaper? And yes, I have an AGP slot. Any help will be great. My budget is £120
i think gt gs is cheap and if u want a cheap 6800 decent better then those go here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814140067 its agp but dont know the cost in ur country how much its cheaper then the 6600 gt i can tell u that but if u only want to order from that site get the x1600
Dude, most deffinately the Sappire ATi x1600 Pro. The card is wonderful. I have an x1600 Pro on one of my computers and it isn't Sapphire. Just think of how that would be. It is also Avivo ready, so you will be able to do MCE apps and movies a lot better.
agreed...That has 12 pipes I believe so that wins also, ur second question, to put it simply, newer technology, its faster. better overall
It may run 12pp, I will look on the link again... one sec. Here is the overview of the x1600 Pro... it looks great... Ok Im torn again! This beast: http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?articleid=569 Or the Saphire: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...l?sap-x16p5&P=4
dont worry about how much the vram is. once you get to like 256 or even 128, you wont notice too much difference. the x1600 is definally better. for other choices, look at newegg. not nessarily buy from ther (i know you cant), but that place is missing some spec information that could be key in your decision. so just refer to newegg for the spec information, then find that card on your site.
This: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=811&redirect=yes Or the Sapphire: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpag...l?sap-x16p5&P=4
The beast wins however, x800pro and 'the beast' (i like saying that...) are about equal as far as I can say
x800GTO will outperform the x1600pro and is on par with the x1600XT the vram doesn't matter too much past say 64mb worth, so don't fvck with 512mb because it's not worth it, by the time you'de need that much vram you'de need a new card because the current one couldn't keep up(the ram would be too slow the core would be too weak etc.) what processor do you have though... for the money it might be best to buy a new motherboard and go PCI-e... PCI-e cards cost less now... significantly less.
the cards wouldn't be powerful enough to make fully adequate use of HDR... though the game with the best implementation of HDR(in my opinion) HL2 lost coast supports HDR through pixel SM2... I have no idea about the x800 pro per se though I beleive the GTO should be ahead of it in performance, furthermore you can unlock the pipelines on the GTO essentially making it an XT...
