    what do you think? or should i wait until the summer for the new processors and mobos to come out?

    eh.. whats conroe? btw i read somewhere the new mobos might have glitches maybe. is that true?

    some new motherboards do have glitches but in most cases they are insignificant, especially if intel is the chipset makes... Intel levers soo much control over everything they more or less guarantee their suppliers don't f' up.

    as for conroe, it is the codename for inte's core2 duo. it's an excellent chip which intel claims as having a 20%(or more) over yonah(core1 duo) which equates to about a 20% performance increase above AMD's Athlon X2s... I'd wait about a week after their release to see if this holds true, but from all the reviews it seems to so far...

    how much would it cost to get one? and i would need to buy a new motherboard just for it? im not confident because of the whole glitch thing

    parents said do whatever and check back with them

    web, games, chatting, watching videos

    You should just wait for Conroe, which will change things, but this is basically the build I'd suggest

    i already know that but any suggestions of brands would be good

    i got other replies from other forums and they all suggested to wait until conroe comes out.

    conroe costs between 200ish to 600ish depending which model which isn't too bad considering its performance... 200ish model should compare to an athlon x2 4800+ give or take...
