The credit system is what brought me here, and with me many others, GameRenders isn't a small happy happy forum, it's big, and on Big Forums there are always dickheads between.

Cheeky come on bro we've been on this site from back when this ---- was like white skin and was a COMMUNITY....that was because the moderators were cool and would talk to members and be cool with everyone...i think we need a new staff in my opinion no offense.

You do realize the reason private communities are even arising is because of noob members irritating them, thats basically the entire reason I only post in the general area of GR anymore, anywhere else I go I get pissed off by the members who are begging, or trying to act high and mighty and such...

The greed for credits on this site truly is the downfall of this site...

Also, I do agree with Blaze slightly, I think a few mods deserve the boot and a few mods should either be promoted or demoted, but its not my spot to say. I, for one, cant see all the action thats going on behind the scenes with the mods/admins, but I do think there are a few more appropriate members of this site that deserve a promotion to a staff position. A lot of mods lately have been becoming uptight rather than the cool people they used to be unless you speak to them off the site (MSN/YIM/AIM). I know its a job, and its in the description, but that doesnt meant your entitled to have the title of "Asshole" branded across your forehead during "work" hours.

Shaggy GR started going down before you got here but it really took a hit when you came here and there was alot of server issues...also the selection of staff was just crazy i mean i love some of them but they haven't been on GR that long...and honestly thats fustrating to know that people who have good standings with people of power get Moderator jobs ...when it should be because they have more experience.

Favoritism has always been a bad thing for GR and after Joe left hell look what happened the staff turned into who Andrew thought were good people..not GR members.

Thats true, but I don't know the mods and don't see many moderations tbh, I mean go to www.gamespot.com and stick around for 30 mins in off topic and there will be at least 5 moderations and 1 ban. It isn't that bad really but yea mods should always let their hair down but it isn't fair to pick on them would they have gotten like that if not for idiotic members?
Some things will and have to change before we all end up at chaosgfx lol. (no offence guys but the amount of suck ups there is unbelievable)

Alrighty i got my account back and i'll give you my suggestion and going to be blunt and be truthfull just like the classic Cheeky is :)

    - Who the hell is Marforce...if the GR members didn't go on to the IRC room they wouldn't know how he is...and is he active .... this by far just shows favortisim once again on GR and thats not the way to go Shaggy...this site was founded on working with the members to create a great site....now its turning into you listening to the old moderators...well just to let you know i've been here longer than all the moderators....and i garantee i love GR more than any of them. This has turned into a freaking field day of letting the mods walk on you Shaggy and its pretty sad.

Favoritism is and will always be a huge part of staff selection. There are probably 10-20 people who deserve mod spots on this site more than the mods who are currently mods because they DID SOMETHING for the site. Alot of members on this site would do great as mods if given the oppurtunity to prove themselves (but apparently being active, helping members, donating to the community - not money stuff, but like helpfulness and resourcefulness, etc. doesnt get you far into the staff). It appears you only make staff here if your on the staffs MSN/AIM/YIM lists and kissass to get there. There are members with far more constructive posts, there are members who have contributed far more to the community, there are members who are generally nicer and have the time for the site thats required that alot of mods havnt done or cant do (such as having a life and going to work and such) and these are mainly complaints DURING the school year, activity always floods this place in summer and it will just get worse unless the staff selection wises up.

Personally, on my sites, if a staff member resigns, they are in no way entitled to their origional position when they decide they "have the time" again, unless they were only temporarily demoted due to a family death or something and we wanted to place them into a group so that they wouldnt be counted on for help (the inactive staff group, or a vacationing staff group). They should have to prove themselves all over again to come back, because ditching the site in the first place gives me reason to believe that the site means nothing to them and that they have higher priorities that should be dealt with before you even become active on the site again... just the way I look at it...

But its turned into the point if one of the mods don't like you then you will never have a shot at moderator on this site...and what really annoys me is how the moderators never interact with the members at all...Shaggy is the first person on staff to actually give a flip about what members think...Joe was trying to he was on MSN everyday fixing problems but of course he had his hands full...also the staff has became really lazy and don't do anything to help the site promote its self in a good way...and that kills it..

I'm not flamming anyone i just want Shaggy to take this to heart because he can make this site back to what it was but to do that he needs to take action on what the problems are...members know when they go to GR they have like no shot at knowning anyone unless they suck up to a moderator...and that is very annoying (except Girly she loves all)

This site actually has a LOT of moderators for it's size. By my count, there's 20 mods of various levels. The site I go on and moderate is much larger than GR and we have 18 mods total.

Also one thing I've learned through my years of going on forums and moderating them (from small ones to the huge one I mod now), is that the mark of a good community and good mods is that you don't see the mods working. From my experience the vast majority of moderating work goes on behind the scenes, where the average member will never see it.

And also you must keep in mind that mods have lives, just like all the other members do. You cannot expect someone to give up their real life and other obligations because they took up a moderator post on a website. It's a volunteer position and frankly, on every single site I've ever been to the mods have gotten far more ---- than they deserve for simply doing their jobs and enforcing rules.

The only times I've seen the mods on here is just interacting and chatting in the various forums, and doing stuff like moving and closing threads. It's rare I see someone banned on here. And that's a GOOD thing.

Yeah, there's always going to be problems with favoritism and people not necessarily agreeing with one person being made a mod over another. But that also happens everywhere. And also keep in mind that it's not always the case that the mods themselves actually get along -- two more things I know from experience.

Just my two cents I suppose on the moderator issue.
