Ps3 will be more here to. because 1$ = €1.29 or something at the moment But they will release it here for €499 and €599 And I still don't think that's too expensive
Well, we can be thankful of one thing - The online service is free! Yes, it is free. No need to pay for the membership. Completely free! And it has a Blu-Ray player, which is worth thousands of dollars (i think). Be thankful for that. I just want to get the Playstation 3 because of the games, and the free online service. And not to mention web browser, and keyboard and mouse. That is a perfect console, for me. I kinda play a bit better with a key and mouse, than a controller.
Free = Crap If they wanted gamers to actually enjoy their online service, they would have made them pay for it.
How come I never experience any trouble when playing online with Ps2 ? No wai in hell I'm going to pay like another €20 or whatever they charge just to get rid of something I don't have in the first place.
yeh ok must 3rd party online games are laggy and ----, kk ghost recon 2 on ps2 sucked but on the xbox it didnt occur any problems, just face it sony are ---- when it comes to online, just look at the past downtime of socom 2
Well I'd suppose they are planning to host good serves with the money they get from all the paid services they will be offering ON the free online service.
1) A free online service? I suppose making the developers pay for the servers and getting no money for it will ensure a great online experience. 2) Blu-Ray is untested. It is still unclear who will win the war of the new media format (Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD). Why would Sony try to sell you an untested DVD player? Because they made it, and they want it to take hold instead of HD-DVD. 3) Web browser, keyboard, and mouse? It's a nice bonus, sure, but you already have a computer. There are two mindsets to look at here: on one side, you have the people that thing the PS3 is a great deal, because you get all the multimedia things, and then there is the people who just want to play games on an affordable console.
I bet the online service will also pWn, I mean hey its SONY. In my opinion I think it'll be free is because you are already paying $600 or w/e the price is and I don't think people would want to pay an extra 50 bucks to play online as it already costs enough to get all the other crap to play online. (router, wires, network adapter, etc.) That's my input on the Ps3's online service.

I've been wondering why ppl complain about the PS3's price. $600 seems steep for a casual gamer, but PC graphics cards like the PS3s cost almost the same price nowadays...When you look at higher-end PCs like the Dell XPS Renegade, you would see better performance but at a heavy price [$6000 i think...]
It's not about graphics(well...it is...a little bit),it's about the games. I mean...you can't see FF on PC(except FF7 and FF8 which came for PC),you can't see GOW or DMC on PC....
