I have a friend who is willing to buy everything collectively... I'm meraly desiring what i paid for give or take(which is good considering price drops on the GFX card and ram.. didn't get my rebate)... I'm technically charging a small premium for it too(which my friend understands, $55 for a guanatee of 2.6Ghz on an undervolt with ram and motherboard being entirely capable as well) in all i essentially paid like 30$ to rent everything for 3 months... and I consider it a learning experience... first real OC... and I learned to spend less on HDDs and other parts which will just be obsoleted... excessive power doesn't guarantee happiness... I found I was happier when I was in want than when I was in dispair of seeing new things coming out... my friends only stiulation was that he can try it before he buys it(something which I agree to, I would have insisted on that anyway... I'm not the type to rip someone off)

    back on topic...

Nice thread guys, but why dont we make just one thread witht the new computer news and pin it. So we all can post news there, and maybe a thread where you can discuss it?

Back on topic, for you who have ddr400, it doesn't actually make's much sense, the ddr2 800. Why did they actually made this new socket while it isn't much greater. And for the FX62 you dont need to even overclock a e6600 to beat it.

the AM2 also has ddr3 support.... that's another reason why they made it.

    it's intel's new processor.

unfortunately, they most likely only will be selling their higher end parts at first... I'm sure that by august though they should introduce more or less the entire lineup...

if you want an AMD proc now and plan on an upgrade to K8L it's a great oportunity, a cheap sempron to get you by and then after a year... BAM AM2... clock for clock AM2 semprons shoudl eb compareable to s939 athlons in performance. Also they should OC very well... they only have a 35W TDP...

OCing is relatively easy... you would be quite surprised... it's just time consuming.

the only reason i would upgrade to AM2 is if i wanted the fx 62 or X2 5000.
