http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/22/katrina.s...back/index.html Kind of sickens me...that our own police would do that.
Something like that happened around where I live. The person was mentally challenged and he wouldn't pull his hands out of his pockets. The police ended up shooting him. The police were called in the first place because some lady thought he was on crack or something.
Morons... how can you even begin to mistake a mentally challenged man for a regular man reaching for his "waist"? Unless the other person was severely hopped up on something bad... it said itself the confrontation lasted minutes, and they couldnt tell the individual was mentally retarded in minutes? As soon as I opened up that article the picture alone depicts a mentally challenged person.
the police down here r always f*ckin somebody's life up. they called this city Murder Capital and now u see y i didn't see anything about this on the news
If you were behind him (when they shot him) it would be pretty hard to see his face. Even if they knew he was retarded they still would have killed him.
For all the people pissed about police.. yea..there's the occasioanall bad thing like this for example... But dont ----ing talk about them like ----..not as a whole..maybe you knwo of some bad ones...but dont stereotype them all because of that.
trust me. i live in New Orleans. i know how the police here can be towards people. a lot of them r good like u said but at the same time a lot of them just don't care that much about human lives
to me, spastic arm movements are apparent from the front or the back, they made a pre-judged decision without taking the necessary time to take note of all possibilities. the only thing else that could be considered spastic arm movments would be someone hopped up on crack/meth/cocaine/etc. or someone who is an escaped institutionalized person, which they would have had prior information about and would have armed themselves with rubber bullets over standard bullets. the other possibility is that he did have a gun, but from the review, it looks like the officers lied to their chief about the man turning around to begin with, so i doubt they would go ahead and say, "oh yeah, we used him as target practice." As for DDJ1, I agree, however quite a lot of cops are corrupted. They are just like anyone else, they are just as open to prejudices as anyone else and they simply have a higher ability to get away with crimes commited by them as well as the background knowledge as to how things work. All of my personal experiences with cops outside about 3 instances have been bad encounters, not necessarily corrupted, but I can tell you first hand they could have been handled in a much easier way.
exactly. earlier today i heard on the radio about some cops who were caught on camera taking bribes from someone and that's not the only time this has happened. it just shows that no matter how good someone seems to be, they can be corrupted just like everyone else
The last thing I would notice in an area where you got called for gunfire, and in the dark would be someones spastic arm movements.
he was shot more than once... He (robert) was shot 5 times, only 1-3 times were on the bridge, his brother carried him while he was still alive to a motel nearby, as he (lance) was beginning to run for help he heard two different types of shots, a handgun like shot and a rifle/sawed off shotgun type shot and ran back and his brother was dead on the ground and he was arrested. Watch the video for reassurance. It happened mid-day/early night as in like 5-6PM, plenty light enough to see things clearly.
