Anyone have any tips for the mercenaries, I cant seem to get a 5 star on any of the levels with leon (have 5 stars on the other 4 characters on all the levels), I can only manage to make 4 stars. Anyone have any tips as to how to use Leon more efficiently in all of the mercenary campaigns? Its beginning to irritate me beacuse I have over 2M pesetas that I can use for the hand cannon and chicago typewriter, but I cant get the 5 star ratings with leon...
Well, I can tell you, that the Mercenaries missions are very hard. It took me a while, but once you get used to the levels and enemies, it becomes a lot easier. I agree, that getting 5 stars with Leon is very hard, but if you tried with Ada, you wouldn´t get any higher than Leon. The first time I got 5 stars was, when I played as Hank. Yes, Hank! He is a very awesome character, with the gun he has. You can kill anyone. If you want to earn a lot of points in one single level, then try killing one of the mini-bosses, like the Chainsaw guy or the machine gun one. They give you thousands of points! The easiest one to get five stars with, is Krauser. Yes, his Bow and Arrows kill every enemy with one shot, exept from the mini-bosses. You can´t get much help with it!
actually, as I said, i have 5 stars with everyone else. I stopped playing the game and did assignment ada right before i started on mercs, i got a 4 star on the villiage my first run and got ada and aced basically all the levels with her, krauser, hunk and wesker pretty easily... im just having problems with Leon and I have scored the highest on all 4 levels with Krauser (he is just flat out badass to play as). I am stuck on the villiage with leon, I have racked up to a 37 continuous kill rate, and killed 4 (yes, 4, not just 2) of the bella sisters and im like right under 5 stars but not quite there... ive found the best way to rack up points is kill some people for about 3-4 hand grenades and about 30ish extra shotgun shells and about 50-100 handgun ammo extra with all the time extensions and then go to the two story barn with the time bonus in it and climb the ladder and shoot the people as they come up, eventually youll rack up 10-15 people in the base and then you can shoot the explosive barrel, after that you start launching hand grenades down when you get a good 10-20 people downstairs. About 2 hand grenades kills the bella sisters, and 2 new ones spawn basically right after the origional ones are killed, when you run out of hand grenades you just pick em off as they climb up the ladder until time runs out (youll have more than enough ammo to do so) and in the last 10-20 seconds you drop down with the shotgun and turn into rambo lmao If leon could have the chicago typewriter instead of his handgun/shotgun then I would be a happy boy, put myself in one story, no windows room and just blow up everything that enters... but nope... *sigh* leon has to be the most mediocre character ever, everyone else is above par IMO (even Ada, her speed speaks for itself, and i love her TMP).
bump, could use some help here, leon is still being a panzy and only getting me 4 stars on the villiage (only level I am having problems with). How is it that I can get almost 100K with Krauser on the castle level and hardly anything comparitively with Leon on the Village level?
Yes, the village level is the hardest one. Especially with the chainsaws. What I did was just shoot a few enemies at the beginning, and taking cover in the houses, and then when I was overrunned, I ran to the house near the entrance of the village, and crawl up the ladder, and shot every enemie that approched with my guns or a knive for that sake. There is also a red bomb in the house, which you can shoot when there are any chainsaws... And if you have gotten over 60000 points and need to waste the time, then go in the house and keep throwing down the ladder, until the time is over.
yeah, i did... didnt you see how i said that i didnt have trouble using ada and such? and i replied to him with i have been doing everything i can think of and for some reason leon cant rack up the points that the other characters cant... im mainly asking for hints or locations to setup camp to rack up a massive kill rate... also, i just saw your second post Bilou, thats basically all im doing, I clear it and ill drop down to get ammo and such and go shoot a few and bring them back in, but the combos wont rack up quick enough for me, leon doesnt have the killing power im used to with people like krauser...
There aren´t many hints and tips for the Mercenaries. It´s basically all about skills. Based on your training of the main quest, you should be capable of completing the Mercenaries. And just for the record, the handcannon isn´t that amazing as you think. It is slow, but very effective. You really can´t get much help for this game. That´s on of the things Capcom didn´t add. Cheat codes and such. They never do that. I am sorry, but you are on your own from here.
Well, I once had the handcannon, but I accidently deleted the system file containing that data and now im starting over. I know the handcannon isnt too great, im doing it moreso for completion % reasons. I prefer the typewriter. My last run through was under 6 hours with the chicago typewriter, so im happy with that, but like i said its just a desire to have everything done and completed and stuff as I already have 3 different game files with all the weapons upgraded fully between the three of them, the infinite launcher, the standard launcher and the special launcher (dont ask me why i have them all, i just kind of wanted to have all versions of all guns) and such, the only gun im lacking across 3 of those is the handcannon, id like it on my save with the typewriter and infinite launcher on it to basically slaughter all)... i had the same general problem with leon last time, i guess I just have to keep at it...
Yes, I am sorry, but there really isn´t much I can do. I thought at the beginning that it was impossible to get 5 stars on all levels with all the characters. But somehow I got used to the levels, and knew almost where every single enemie was, and got better and better. The village was also my problem. I took Leon at the end with the village, and it took me hours. Once I did get 60000 points and I was so happy that I almost cried, and then it happened... A chainsaw right behind... Cut off my head and I almost destroyed my controller. It really pissed me off. I understand you want all the weapons and complete the game 100%. I have done it. I even got through the game on Professionel mode. Good luck with The Mercenaries! Oh, and just something I forgot to mention. When you are doing the missions and such, and you need some time clocks and such, I would suggest that you kill as many as you can at the start and get plenty of ammo and such. Then when the time is almost over or you are over runned, you should run and get some clocks or take shelter for a while at the house with the ladder. DON`T stay at the ladder house forever. The time will go fast and you won´t get many kills. Keep running around and if you are in the need of only 4000 points for example, then go the the ladder house and kill loose. Don´t stop!
yeah, ive beaten professional on handgun/very little shotgun (you need it in pro, in regular just the knife/handgun/rifle suffices)/knife and only 4 sniper shots (Necessary to kill the guys quickly). This is about my 14th play through, its to the point where I can beat the game in under 10 hours from a fresh start because i know where all the enemies spawn in the entire game and where i can shoot to take them out quickly and such, gimme a fully upgraded handgun and ill use that 5x headshot rating to my advantage lol.. but about 2 play throughs ago I accidently deleted the file off my card, as said, i was pissed, but its not hard to do anything in that game but complete mercenaries... chicago typewriter takes about 6 1/2 hours, simply because i dont have to aim and the bosses go by so much quicker lol its a fun game... well thanks for the help, time to go spend countless hours on the villiage mercenaries level... lol
