Give me an example of Christianity agreeing with something other than Christianity, or changing their views because of rock solid evidence.

I didn't read the article, but why should Christians believe anything other than the Bible? To Christians, it is the only thing they can believe. Of course they're going to be hesitant to believe somethign that another person, that was not mentioned in the bible at all, says.

Brown assumes that since the Gospel didn't mention Jesus had a wife, it is proof that he had one. Though by that logic, Jesus should also have an Aston Martin.

People should just accept that this is FICTION. There is no need to DISPROVE anything, because the book didm't aim to PROVE anything. It was just meant to entertain.

    YOUR RIGHT!
Except, your completely wrong. The book is meant to entertain but also to make people think differently...heck, even the Main Character is actually a real person. The events are fictional, but all the bit about the Vatican, Christianity and the Illuminati is FACT.

I'd have to agree with Beat89. This book is classified under "fiction." No one said anything about it being true, except descriptions of artwork (as stated in the beginning by Brown).

The DaVinci Code is, quite simply, controversial, but they're arguing over fiction.

    9. Fiction: "Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans."

    That's true.

There are 2 versions of the creation of the world, and one of them was written a long time after the other, and was written in accord with another religon's day of rest.

Can you imagine a scenario in which a group of men would ask a married man, "Why do you love your wife more than us? And, for that matter, why do you keep kissing your wife?" Such a question wouldn't make any sense. In fact, it wouldn't make any sense even if the two were merely engaged or simply dating.

Jesus was supposed to see all people as equal, it makes perfect sense. It doesn't make sense with a usual man, but Jesus wasn't usual.

There are a few things I found wierd about the Bible:

    1. If God created man in his image, then why is everyone saying they wonder what he looks like? He looks like man!

    2. If God had a destiny picked out for each and everyone of us, why would he choose to send some of us to hell, and not to heaven?

    3. How come it is they modern street magicians are magic for levitating, but people in the Bible aren't, even though they make the blind see, float on water, and split oceans?

    4. This is something else from 3 and 1. If God had an intention for everyone, why did he make the blind man blind, and had Jesus make him see?

These are just a few of the many things I find skeptical about the Bible, but I don't want to cause too big of an uproar ;-).

I was thinking a lot about religion in the last few weeks - especially Christianity. I tried to figure out what makes so many people believe in one book or one person without questioning anything. How can people be that foolish?
What i'm going to say will probably attack every religious group.
    There is no god.
Why should i believe in a ~2000 old book? Nothing has been proved. If I believe in the holy book I could also believe in X-Factor (the TV show).
My story goes here and now, not in a 2000 years old fairy tale.
Well I just could figure one reason out why people trust in god, it's fear. Fear of the everlasting nothing after their death. You see all those old people going to church in their last few years. I don't think this is the "illuminating in the older years" this is just hypocrisy and their fear of death.

For all we know, this could be the old people's version of Harry Potter. We can never be 100% sure. And this is going to talk about science. If they think the earth was created 200 million years ago, why do the scientists call this year 2006 and not 2000000000000000000000000006? Just something to ponder about.
