    how many of you guys have used this to "etch". how do the cd's turn out, do they look good?

    I use it, they look SWEET... I got two drives that do it. ;)

    You buy lightscribe CD's and you burn them, it comes with software to scribe into the CD/DVD with scribing capabilities. Then you write or have something drawn up, and then you incert the disk upside down into the drive and the CD will be scribed onto what you want on it. Like scribes into a rock.. just on a CD. Very interesting thing. I use it often actually.

    cool. my uncle just got a new computer with it and i thought about it the other day when i was trying to cut out the cd shape on sticky paper with a craft knife... could you tell me which one/s you would recomend?

    Yeah, heh... go with Lacie. They make lovely drives... I prefer them over NEC I think.. maybe.... I am talking about regular drives... Lightscribe.. Lacie all the way.
