I have a pretty old computer with files i need. Its not dell. It has a ATI rage 128 inside. Sometimes about 2 years ago i had to restart it a few times using the power button to make my screen comunicate with it. I stoped using it about 2 years ago and earlier this year tried to get my files out. 2 of my computers are dell and 1 is a laptop. the one that doesnt work, turns on.. but the monitor is all black like its off. I think its my video card but not sure. I took it apart a few times. My dell desktop has a video card and i cant take it out because its all together. Like the motherboard and all that green plastic things. Im not a computer genious... but i know things about it. Does anyone know the problem with it?
take your hard drive out of your old system, and put it it on your dell as slave, connect it, then boot of your main drive, and get the files off the slave drive... If you need help, let me know.
yea thanks but i need help. I cant find where the hard drive is in the dell 2400. I have the other hard drive but it still has wires too. BTW is there anyway just to make the old computer work?
normally when you get no screen, it means something is screwed up. For me, it was the ram in it that was bad...
so maybe i should try out another screen? Because the screen i connect it with is dell. I dont have the old screen cause it was big
I see. I wanted to use it for like file keeping since im tight on space. I remember it had some trojan on it and i couldnt get rid of it so i got a new 1.
