Merged Post: heres the dell http://www.dell.com/content/products/produ...s=19&l=en&s=dhs
I would personally not suggest the Asus N6600, i have it myself, and it has problems... id rather get a evga or pny... not sure about the board, never heard of it. everything else looks good. edit: I'd drop the Cd, and get a zalman cpu hs/f... and drop the dvd and get a NEC DVD burner. cheaper.
already have winXP and software such as word power etc and i dont pay for software i only buy mircosoft software
If you could spend just a little bit more money you could buy a motherboard that is socket 939 ... so it would be easily upgraded to any new AMD processor, if you wanted to in the future and one with a PCI-Express slot, so that would also be easily upgraded in the future. Also ... for about the same price you can get a 6600GT or 7600GS instead of a regular 6600. Thats my advice. Edit: This motherboard is only $5 more after rebate than the one you picked out, and it has 2 more RAM slots, a PCI-Express slot and supports all new AMD processors: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135009 And this processor is pretty nice to go with it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103537 Video card (since it is PCI-Express instead of AGP) same price as last one ... but much much better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150130
just get 1 stick of 512mb ram. up the 6600 to a 6600gt it will be like $15 more. oh and drop the floppy.
Get 2 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRatingRe...N82E16820161637 Its one stick of 512mb Its alot cheaper then the 2 sticks you have Also you only need 1 DVD burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827101653 ^--Get That---^
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814135185 6600GT Also ide love to get rid of this Neg rep =)
Actually though ... that 6800 XT is quite a bit better than the 6600GT and is $5 less after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150130
software refers to programs FYI... since you have XP paid for this changes the story... wait like a week or two for s939 semprons to become available. buy the cheapest one with 256mb cache and OC... semprons are made for OCing trust me... get a full gig of ram for about 30-35$ more, trust me it's worth it 6600GT or x800GTO... x800GTO goes for as little as 90 bucks and I recomend it. drop the standard CD player and dvd player, get a full burn/reader get a real motherboard, check to see if it's an OK ocer... don't need to drop $100, but atleast get something better than the cheapest POS out there... that baord is Dell quality... that's about it... for low budget it's abotu as good as you can get, case is OK but you'll outgrow the PSU if you want anymore than that. conversely, you could wait a little longer for AM2 or conroe... shouldn't be that much fo a wait...
This guy aint thre best at knowing quality vs the dollar so try to suggest him some good MOBO and good PSU
i have a dvd / cd burner laying around here somwhere might use it and save a couple bucks and the mobo i dont need a real high end one i mean ill hardy use it like i said and the x800GTO by SAPPHIRE from what i heard / read is better or is better then the 6800GS + im going to OC it ... and it dont cost 90 it costs 170 bucks
