Strange Connection Problems

Note: This just happened today.

For some reason, when I try to go to certain sites on the internet (places like nuklearpower.com), I always get timed out. However, if I use something like proxify, it loads the site quickly and without problems, just like before. I did a check, and there are no internet filters running on my computer right now either.

 

what firewall/antivirus prog(s) do you have?

either could be blocking it.

 

I have nothing in my system tray at the moment except for the volume icon, and I have no program running that could restrict internet access, such as a virus scanner. By the way, I still have this problem with all firewalls off.

 

then it looks like it's your router's firewall that is blocking you.

 

I have the same problem connecting directly to the modem...

 

Then reset your modem.

 

That didn't help much either... oh, and just to clarify, I'm fairly confident that it's not a server problem on the other side as well; I have the same problem with many sites, and I don't believe that all of them would be having problems like that.

 

If you have another computer, can you try that for us. If not, get back to us about that.
