Errrm... it's a known fact that what's in that book is fake, it's just history manipulated by da Vinci.

He did something different, he dared to question faith, although not going out all against it. I personally loved the book, one of the few i've read that makes you think, it's not 100% fiction. A very large majority is BASED of Evidence, using real information like all of his other books (The Nasa equipment in Deception Point, for example) Anybody religous, seriously religious is always going to disagree with the book but, I think Christianity is made up anyway so...woot.

The Fictional peice of this book has been challeneged many times. Which is not suprising considering the ethics that it has taken on anc hallenged, VERY WELL I may add.

Yeah. But you look at his sources of information, the hours of work he did before actually writing books...all the research. ^_^

Christianity is most likely going to disagree with everything that contains a different view point than their own.

    1) angels and demons is excellent. I recommend getting your hands on the version that has all the pics and maps and stuff too. I have that copy and its really nice to be able to see all of the things he refers to. makes me want to visit the vatican, although you'd never be able to see all the cool stuff he mentions.

    2) people are just giving you advice. attention spans and reading patterns on the internet have been analyzed and it has been found that the average time a person is willing to spend looking at one thing is about 30 seconds. people especially have little patience when the first thing they read is some defense of jesus against an admittedly fictitious work of literature. I'm sorry to say, but if you're looking for people who care about that stuff, much less care about reading anything that long and boring, this isn't exactly the place.

    3) what revovler said made perfect sense. the church has always gone to great lengths to try to disprove and discredit viewpoints that oppose its own. they think of themselves as the one true religion on earth and won't hear a word against it, no matter how much proof you have or how convincing of an argument you make. since religion is not based on any sort of provable fact, they can rarely disprove what people say, and so have to resort to discrediting the people that say it. can you say "galileo?"

just the truth, I'm afraid. if you want more people to care, add in some boobies. but then, thats not very christ-like, is it? :P

    not true.

i have read both the books, and have yet to see the movie, but I personally think that a movie won't be able to capture all of the information and suspense that the book has.

btw, AOL just posted a news story saying that a lot of critics are saying that the movie sucks. apparently, the audience laughed at the turning point, and were stone silent at the end.

    here's the whole article.
