building tends to save a lot... it takes about 30-40 mins to physically assemble the stuff and it's primarily common sense to do so(ask diablo) what takes a lot fo time is physically installing windows/the OS and thats more or less automated, popo in the disc let it install itself, and then after windows is installed, just pop in all the CDs which came with your parts use a utility to make a system backup(not necessary but wise) and your'e set.

by summer though, it would liekly be in your interest to go witha CORE2 DUO, which should be relatively cheap and hopefully very OCable... 1.8Ghz core duo to 2.6 = ownage...

I built one last summer for just over 600 bucks. Learning how to build one is pretty fun, and isnt as intimidating as it might seem. If you just take important attention to instructions you'll get it up and running pretty quick.

For ~$600 I got: Athlon 64, 6600 Gt, 120 GB HD, 1 Gig Ram Runs new games very good. Granted not 200 Fps @ Extreme settings but its very smooth.

Yes it does..jsut wait for prices to go down unlike what I did :D Yes I wont let how screwed I got go...

It took me at least 2-3 days I believe to build Thats just cuz the case came with bumps in it to keep the mobo away from the case so it didnt short circuit. and I had some problems there...I was too paranoid cuz it does touch the case a bit but i guess...idk..its odd..little indentions, goin towards the board rather, to replace the screws...i felt dumb xD
then of course, some random problems later but its worth it rather than gettin prebuilts..
