Warcraft 3: Dota

Anyone play DotA on WC3: TFT?

Right now im participating in Cal-M (highest) of this. If anyone else plays this game i would be glad to maybe get together to play or something. Just post!

dota allstars is a pretty good alternative to world of warcraft. its fun and everything, but icefrog should implement more radical updates, not jsut new heros every so often.

 

Well radical updates would complete change the game, which is what every1 likes, please post ur bnet ID as well

wow is good and all, but it just takes sooo long to get up there

yeah this game is pretty fun, but it mess up my ladder strategy so i try not to play it so much.

Lots of people i know said they played this, but i don't have the slightest clue what's it about. In what sense is it similar to WoW ?

 

I wouldnt say it is similar to WoW to any extent. WoW is RPG while DotA is more to RTS. Basically you control a unit (or what we call Hero in that game). Each hero has 4 unique skills. It can be played by a maximum of 10 players, 5 each side max. This game is about pushing, where you aim to destroy your enemy's base and the Frozen Throne or the world tree. There are unique items are recipes which can be formed to make your hero 'epic' .

 

Actually, these comments made me think it was an RPG and close to WoW
