im against this, but my reasons have been stated hundreds of times throughout these forums. an opinion is an opinion, there is no "pro" or "intermediate" or "novice" when it comes to rating anything art related. yes, even tho you cant really reflect emotions and most of the time the contain things you did not make personally, they are still art.

i think there should just be a rule against all forms of rating each others work on a "pro", "intermediate" or "novice" scale. people have likes and what you may consider "pro" is truly not that great to them (like I personally hate/dislike about 95% of UV and T3 stuff, and thats rated "pro" when most of it is dark backgrounds, C4D, color balances, selective colors, etc. and its not hard, a noob could do it if there was a better tutorial then "open render, place render, repeat, color, add text" which most tutorials are).

When I sell something I simply say, ".Dementia Signature", not "semi-pro/pro" etc. because too many people have different tastes. As I said, what you may consider pro, I may consider novice.

I disagree, I mean, who is there to judge if something is Pro?

i agree with trance, because everyone was different taste, someone might think its pro and the next might say its novice.

well i dont know about you guys but I would rather have a graphics team rate peoples sigs rather than see everyother post say pro or semi pro tags for sale. I can see why some of you dont want it though, that way you cant say pro sigs any more, and you might now get as many page views.

Agreed, I mean you can kinda tell the difference from a new sig and a sig that took a lot of time...

Why not make a rule that states you can't say if your sig is pro/semi-pro or w/e your opinion of it is? That solves everyone's problems

    Exactly what i said. ^^

Just make it disallowed to post the status of the sig. As I said, all of my sigs sell just fine (hell, one just binned for 850 in under 1 night), with just saying, ".Dementia Signature". Rufio is coming across as disliking the people who disagree with his idea... to me it seems like he meant to say something else, but it did come out as "without a pro rating from someone as 1337 as me you wont get any views" face it, your not better than anyone else at art, same goes for every single person here (including myself). The only rating scale there is is the amount of people who would like a particular piece of art (traditionally more people would like "pro" sigs over "novice" sigs), and thats not a rating, thats a preference, or an opinion.

Art is and should be expressive, even if its as small as a signature. ever heard the term "one mans trash is another mans treasure"? same applies to you, what you guys call "inter" or "semi-pro" often times sells for more than your signatures do, so i dont want some internet person trying to come across high and mighty because a group of his friends rated him "pro" when some novices would rate them lower because most of their .psds truly arent that difficult, which is whats going to end up happening.

The group of people who get to rate a signature will end up rating it as "pro" for their friends to help them sell it for more, and mark it as "novice" or "semi-inter" for those they dislike. It will end up getting blown out of its limits and people will start ass kissing and well be right back to the start of things all over again, pro will be worthless because youll rate a friends novice sig as "pro" and all that other good stuff.

Art is subjective... It's impossible to rate it, cause everybody has different tastes
