    INTRODUCTION

Friends players, Logitech (still) thought of you! After its surprising mice G5 and G7 cut for the competition, Switzerland proposes a keyboard especially designed to us for the amateurs of video games.

    Logitech G15: presentation

Imposing, rectilinear square and, such are the adjectives which qualify best this G15 with leaving packing. The keyboard is indeed particularly broad: with a scale of 54 cm and a 22 cm depth, G15 will take undoubtedly place on your desk. On the other hand, its thickness remains modest, only 3 cm if one can say. Aesthetic question, the designers of Logitech made in the "new edge design" with a keyboard with the bevelled angles and the very geometrical roundnesses. The coating of G15 seems particularly robust with a rubber entourage black, rather thick, and a zone of silver plated striking. While turning over the keyboard, one sees a plane base of figure black comprising pass-cables, two blocks to raise the keyboard and two shoes out of rubber. The cross-country aspect of the keyboard is without any doubt reinforced by the two "handles" which it comprises with each one of its ends. Deprived of rest-wrists integrated, the keyboard is all the same delivered with rest-wrists removable to the rubbery coating step inevitably very pleasant to touched, but apparently non-skid.

Connecting itself to the port with port USB of your PC, and with it only, G15 is compatible only with Windows XP, at least with regard to software which accompanies it. Including/understanding 105 keys standards, whose usual three Windows keys, the keyboard is characterized by the presence, on its left end, of a paving stone of 18 keys which can be assigned with a maximum of 54 orders macros that you will program yourself as we will see it further. By defect, its keys are programmed under Windows to retort the function keys. Function keys which do not offer any office automation short cut besides as it is often the case on the last keyboards.

One of the characteristics of G15 comes from these completely defined keys of a fine blue light moreover very tempting and whose intensity is adjustable on three levels (the first level corresponding to the extinction of the retro lighting). As a happiness never arrives only, one will not fail to announce the presence on top of the keyboard of a screen LCD of three lines, which is more of a very pretty blue, and folding. Once unfolded, this one reveals the whole of the orders multimedia with a button reading, a button stop, a silver plated serrated roller of adjustment of volume, buttons precedent, as well as buttons to sail in the menus posted by the screen. Let us specify that the four buttons of reading see their edge being illuminated of blue. Curiously, if Logitech did not forget to propose a button silencing device for quickly cutting the sound, this one is not located with the orders multimedia, but not far from the button of adjustment of the light intensity. But let us return to the screen which is not satisfied to post the date, the hour or the Logitech logo. It is in truth much more useful than that since it acts as center of control for the compatible plays. Thus one can take note, when the play used supports it, of the number of remaining ammunition or of your level of health. The remainder of time, the screen posts the hour, the date, the number of received messages or many information even more useful or essential as the load processor and the occupation memory. On the other hand, and contrary to certain Logitech keyboards, the temperature of the part is not posted here.

For the remainder, the keyboard proposes a switch making it possible to rock in plays mode. About what is it? Quite simply to decontaminate the shortcut keys Windows to avoid strike them and the returns quite as malencontreux the desk. In the series of the "details which kill", Logitech proposes an orange sparkling keys of state for the capital letters and the activation of the numeric keypad. One also finds, with the top of the numeric keypad a blue sparkling color of the Logitech logo. Height of the luxury, two ports USB are present on the section of the keyboard enabling you to connect the peripherals of your choice to it, without exceeding however the limits of the food of port USB.The M1 buttons, m2 and m3, placed at the top of the keys macros, make it possible to change mode and ignite out of orange, only when it are activated.

how the hell do you need a high quality keyboard? as long as the buttons don't stick and the button responce time is adequate there shouldn't be a problem. I can understanda ahigh quality mouse, but a keyboard?

Its really nice, i like logitech keyboards and mice, i have had two desktops sets from them and been very happy, this one is the MX5000 laser. Mouse is good for gaming, has the buttons G5 and G7 lack. I would like the keyboard and i might try there mice, but i really like all the buttons on my MX1000.

    I agree..
who the hell in the middle of a game, looks down at a keyboard, to see what teammates are saying? or how good ur cpu/ram is? its a nice feature, although kinda pointless to me..

I spent 40 on my keyboard after a 20$ instant rebate...I wouldnt spend a full 60 I think...although, they last for years so thats how I think of it..same for mouse, i'll probly have the same keyboard/mouse for at least 5 years....i'm sure in 5 years I'll make that 100$ back.
