    low OC ehh?

welll here's the basics... just see how far you can push your ram up, loosen the timings a fair bit(or toss it one a divider) and see where you can go from there. When you get to a deent point, say a 10-20% OC test the CPUs stability in stressprime or prime 95 if it can make it through for 2 or 3 hours you should be fine(if it survives an overnight burnin it's fine) I'm assuming you don't want to touch the voltage so just lock it to where it currently is.

after you determine a reasonable max for your CPU at stock voltage, take the ram off the divider and try to get it high enough to match, setting it on a divider on a FSb system has a fairly high penalty so see how high you can get your ram/see if you can get it to match your CPUs speed.

other than that I can't say a huge amount, though I've been researching K8 OCing on/off for the last year or so I haven't done much myself and am currently testing... dang.. just failed stressprime after 3 hours... time to lower the HTT by 1...

if you want it fast/easy see if it will boot with the ram instantly upped by 10%... helped my friend o it over the phone and it worked(albiet I don't know if it's prime stable but still).

just curious though... is your AXP pencilable or was the a CPU generation too far ago...

It even isn't possible to get it stable at that speeds, the max is around 2.6/2.8 for bartons.

Read this, and post your memory diagnostics too :)

replace the ------- with b-a-s-t-a-r-d (without the - ofcourse)

with an athlon xp you gotta watch the temps as they heat up quickly. Also look around for fsb and multiplier mods for athlon xps because there are a few to unlock multies (on nforce boards i think) and unlock the fsb on most athlons.

I was talking about yours, bartons are limitid to that speed, but P4's not. When starting the PC you should hit del, so you come into the bios and there you gotta see somewhere, voltage/frequency controls, if it isn't there, your bios is locked, and you gotta unlock it. However, there are some tweaks around (if you have a new mobo) who also can do it.
