well who here plays an instrument... i used to play guitar for a while ... but then i stopped... i basically waisted 400 bucks T_T
Violin - played that when i was about 10 - 17 Guitar - gave to my nephew, my sisters went to my other nephew
I've played trumpet for, oh, 12 years now. I'm a marching band geek, I'll admit it. however, in college, its frickin great. since being here I have: gone to COUNTLESS parties, since the day I joined. hooked up a few times (and no, these aren't your HS skanks, we have some VERY attractive girls in the band) gone on numerous trips. las vegas, san antonio, nashville, and tampa. all for at least 5 days, all for FREE and yeah, played my instrument. it's hard work, I'm not gonna lie. 10 hours a week, and I'm in wisconsin, so we practice outdoors in december. if its a weather condition thats not immediately hazardous to human survival, I've marched in it. plus, as a band member, I've been to every football game since I've been at college for free. I also get into hockey (go badgers! 2006 mens and womens champions!) and basketball games for free as well. the band travels with the team to all tournaments, so I've been courtside at NCAA tournament games for free. I'm a nerd, I won't lie to you. but being a nerd in college is a whole different thing from being a nerd in high school. no one cares, for one, and two, we constitute a majority, or close to it. plus theres the sex and booze so yeah, I play trumpet. w00t
guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/piano. havnt touched any of the above in a few years tho, i stopped playing when i had to start being serious about my school work getting done and having more of a social life. i had about 4 years under all of them (i was basically learning them all at the same time, bass and guitar really arent that different, the drums were a little hard at first, but its all in rythem (sp?)).
