If You're In School Or Have Ever Been...

I'm a Sr. and this is my final year in highschool and with only a single week of school left to go... I got to thinking. With all the complaining about my teachers, the classes, the homework and school in general... I'll miss it. Without homework I'd have nothing to make me look forward to getting on the computer, onto games, TV or out with friends. Without annoying and hardass teachers I'd have nobody to make fun of with friends in school. No more afterschool plans with friends and no more jokes about the bad cafeteria food. Most of the people don't have the same plans as I do so we'll be seperated when school's out and I realized that what everyone's been telling me is true... I'm going to miss highschool. So if you've already passed the point where I'm at... you know this already. If you're still in highschool or even middle school, enjoy it. Don't spend your time waiting until graduation because it's only a week away for me and I gotta tell yah... I'm going to miss all of this. Enjoy it while you can before you get out into the real world.

That's what I found out after 8th grade graduation from my little christian private school. I find that I miss it, although I still hate it's guts. :|

 

Seriosly man I know how it feels ive been there and done that about four years ago so I know exactly how it feels. Change just doesnt happen after school changes happen all through out life you lose some friends along the way and you make some more its just what happens life moves on and things change. Enjoy your last week at school and with your norm everyday routine, at the end have a big ass party with you and all your friends, and talk about the old times it'll be fun

 

Im only a Sophmore at my high school, but my brothers a Senior thats also graduating. The only thing I can say is that he doesnt know what he missed.

He never went to a single dance, never went to prom, never had many friends, he basically will graduate with nothing to look back onto. =/ He doesnt even have the memories because he never expierenced anything. Its kinda sad, but I still laugh at him for it.

 

I'm in college, but when I was in senior year, I felt the same way as you did. And even now, I miss the high school life and the cool teachers I did have.. Now it's all about parties, which is fun = but school isn't the same. I don't really like school and my teachers are just there for a lil while - but they change all the time n they're diff. from HS teachers

 

I know what ya mean. Still only in year 9 with just over 2 years to go. But me and my friends have a great time at school doing stupid stuff, so I try to make the most of it. When my parents used to tell me that I'll miss school after I'm done, I thought they were crazy. Strangely enough they were right though. Nice advice, enjoy your last week. Have a blast

 

Lol i dont kno what you guys are talking about.

I got suspended for 2 weeks and then 1 week spring break(This was like 5 weeks ago now) for beating up some kid, and on my suspention all i did was get stoned and chill wit my boys. I woke up around 2 and we get out of school at 1:40 so it worked out perfect. Best 3 weeks of my life ever

I dont even enjoy it much, but i'll miss it o.o

 

I guess you dont understand my current position, but i dont care to explain it anyways. But I probley will have more sucess and money then u ever just because of who i am No offence

 

A wannabe rich prick who tries to impress people on the internet by claiming to get suspended and stoned for weeks on end with your friends who... got suspended with you? ^.- yeah... were jealous all right *blatant sarcasm* I was in worse spots than you in school and im in worse now and I didnt waste my time doing stupid ----, I realized my problems and fixed them for the best and worked for something I wanted (the ability to carry out a college education despite my mistakes and have a job and make enough money to be able to support myself).

As far as graduating school and missing it, I got expelled during the summer between my sophomore and junior year (this last year, that is... i did something in the middle of the summer and got in trouble for it at at the beginning of the school year I was punished and it also got me in even more court trouble and stuff) and got my GED and im in a university now thanks to my high GPA my sophomore year (4.11 since AP classes count as 5.0 around here for an A).

I can honestly say that I do not miss high school. Believe me when I say that when you start up college everything about high school leaves your mind. It is seriously the time of your life, while also being the most important in the outcome, it is also the time when your released from home and are treated as an adult, which I always found to be something worthwhile for myself. I hated not being challenged enough in school (i have always been a bit above the average student in all aspects in school as well as sports) and not having the freedom to simply not go if I didnt want to and stuff. It teaches you to understand the consequences of your actions and its great preperation for real life (im currently only able to be in online university classes since I have to work full time in order to help support my mom and I).

I still hang out with my friends and everything, so as far as im concerned high school is just a burden that I left behind, it may be different for someone who spent 4 years there, but while your probabl 18 and just getting your diploma, im 17 and im finishing up my first year of college.

 

In a few weeks, I'll be out of the 10th grade, It's fun and joy becuase you always think YEAH OUT OF SCHOOL, but then I think back to 8th grade when I had a good set of friends that we actually did stuff together and now after 2 years of high school I don't talk to any of that group. It's like what happened, we all discovered ourselves, one is a "soccer" kid, one is a stoner, one of the girls likes black guys and hangs out with those people, and the other girl is a soccer/volleyball player. I know I will already miss high school, even though the freedom after high school is great for a while until you get into college or a job. It's just hard thinking of what im going to do after school. Very strange.

Trust me man, you'll soon forget about school, and it won't mean much to you. So don't stress over it being done. Once it's done, then the real fun begins man. I had the same feelings as you whenever I was a senior. I've been out for a year now and I haven't once wished I was still there. So yeah, you'll like it better once you're done. Promise.

Just about to graduate grade 8 here. It's gonna suck. My friends and I are all split up.
