it's just that the term "LEAVE". it's weird. they could've say "i'll come back when the problems are resolved" or "i'll visit once in a while when im not busy with homework" or "i'll comeback when my aunt's cousin's sister who happens to be my wife has give birth to our 9th child" (just a joke. im not saying those who leave do have this)
I like GR and I will stick around for a long time, but I think that some members move on to other things and then tere is the stuff with downtime and SOTW that should be renamed to "sig of the month" But GR is still very good, and a nice community.
Blazextreme had his reasons to leave and lately i have been very inactive, really just returning to check my PMs. Ive got my reasons to leave, some of the them the same as Blaze some of them different, like we both have commitment to other sites now, a few people that i have spoken to have left because of a dislike of some members of staff, I have college now, work, and its coming up to all my exams soon so i will be barely here at all over those times, but GR has its problems same as every site will thats this size, youve just gotta deal with it and ignore the people you dont like and just have a good time with the people you do like.
I don't got a PC anymore so ya.. I'm not on asmuch anymore.. When I get setup then I'll be on track 'cause RL isn't for me.. I realized I'm one of those "hermit" types... so until then, I'll pop in once in a while..
Its moreso because of the actual forums. The average age on an internet forum can be much higher than 14-15 (not average, but the largest amount of people, like a mean). How much of a stressful life can a 14-15 year old have? Its like school and maybe a funeral or drugs or something. Its not like your going to get married, your dad dies on your wedding day, etc. Ive found its often times select members on the staff that get people to leave (usually an SMOD or Admin). There are spammers constantly. On large forums people expect immaturity, but some of the posts just are flat out disrespectful, like all of shortfusewar's posts on immigration, and most of his posts in general. Smaller forums offer a higher maturity level, less spamming, often times friendly mods/admins (that meaning you usually know them through AIM/YIM/MSN or something) and usually more activeness from its members. Its a fresh start, no more searching for old topics that you once thought was great (like Alias' Soft Grunge Tut, im sure we have all used that unless your really new) only to find its not as great as you remember it and often times newer communities brings the heavily graphically oriented (meaning the mroe experienced) looking for a new hang out, so new tutorials, new psds, etc. are all released there (like private communities). Some people who leave should stay gone (wont mention names, but if you really want my opinion I guess you can PM me).
ive suggested this personally to llama hundreds of time have a private invite only forum for elite or old time members ive been thinking about leaving for a long time
yeah, then new people can come in and buy an old account and have instant access and the problem starts all over again.
wow, you really think ahead Merged Post: RECENT DEVELOPMENT: seems like andrew (BFTP) is leaving too [rumour].
I left because of the complete faggotry that was going on around 5months ago and joined up with some really nice communities... *cough* blazextreme *cough*
