Hi all, I wanted to OC my system, so I read a very nice page here: http://www.elite-------s.com/cms/index.php...id=54&Itemid=30 My specs: Cpu Ram: Now I asked myself would this be helpful? My CPU's FSB is clocked at 201MHZ, and my ram at 166mhz, and it's already using FSBRAM. Wouldn't increasing the FSB causin' the memory to work slow? And if its good to overclock the FSB/ram (since the multiplier are locked), how? My Bios locked the Frequecies/voltage control. I tried several other programs but they dont work. Any help?
it will be helpful, just bump he vcore to 1.5 and see hwo high it will go form tehre, Northwoods die on 1.6V or higher hough so don' go past1.5
As I said, I can't acces the clock frequencies/voltage control, and I dont know how to unluck them. I hope you get my problem witht he ram though. Btw get on msn
well, typically the BEST way to OC is through BIOS. if you can't access it thrugh BIOS your options are quite limited. I would recomend to try for a 10% OC through A64 tweaker, but for some "odd" reason I don't see that working...
Hmm, but there got to be a way to unlock it? I found my mobo's manual on an internet site, let me find it:http://rapidshare.de/files/19716081/Man_GA-8SGXP-FS_uk.pdf.html I searched the whole internet for it, couldn't find it ANYWHERE, driverguide, anything, not even on the gigabyte site. But since it's a siemens scaleo PC, i thought i'd try the site and viola. Now back to the topic; Maybe it's a jumper setting? Maybe I can flash my bios with a new update? (I have the file but IDK how to work with it?? ) And A64 tweaker is for AMD
well, you could try flashing it's BIOS and see if that does the trick. is it a custom comp or a manufactured one, sotre bought ones tend to not be OCabel through BIOS
Bought from a store, but IDK howto flash the bios, I have the files but IDK how to use them :S. However the manaul does have a page with the frequency/voltage controls.. I'm trying to find out howto do it now. Its a file w/o extension.. :S hmm, i will never buy a pc again from a store, next time i'll setup one myself.
I have never flashed bIOS myself but to the best of my knowlege all you have to do is to write it to a floppy and bot from it. do a bit of research first though.
Yeah, I'm reading site's about it. On the fujitsu siemens site they have drivers 14-04-2004 and the one I have now 03/12/04, this is really wierd :S
Update: Guy's I found a bios patcher. Here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-...S-Patcher.shtml I read the readme twice, but I dont understand it. Should I put it on a CDROm and than boot it from the CD? the site for the other files rom.by was down but I was able to find those on an other site. Would anyone please read it and explain it to me, I dont understand it. Greatly appriciated.
