I started this thread because i felt like discussing with those that have aquariums and telling us how big it is and what kind of fish are living in it.
I am somewhat new to the hobby i started raising fish when i was younger (i only had goldfish) i got tired of it, and let it go for a few years then i just started to want an aqaurium again so i got on from my highschool and bought all the eccentionals.

    In my aqaurium:

1 Gold Angelfish (10 months old)
1 Blue Gourami (12 months old)
    7 Orange Platies
    1 Bushnose catfish
    2 Kribensis (I just bought them today :) )

so i look foward to see what your responses are.

I've had fish before; they were goldfish. they lived, they died, they did what fish usually do.

basic goldfsh on my opinion are not the greatest fish to keep. and its not the fact that they die easily. They're boring and yes fish live and they die. thats the same for alll animals. You probably would have liked it better if you kept South American fish that live in the channels of the Amazon

I kept a 25 gallon tank for awhile. Though it has been some time since I kept any fish, mainly because my cats think their fun to play with.

I'm a big fan of tetras, their quite small I know, but they have a fairly long life span and they breed in decent sized numbers. They even have a rather interesting mating ritual that if you ever get to watch, will find highly interesting, its almost like a dance.

However, my favorite fish, has been and always will be the Beta (siamese fighting fish). Not because of the fact that they fight, but because they are absoluately gorgeous fish. If you can find one that hasnt been in too many fights, and its fins arent all tore up because of it, then they are amazingly beautiful. The wide range of colors they come in is nice as well.

I've always wanted to breed Betas, because I find these fish to be very interesting. The male actually makes a bubble nest, and the female lays her eggs in them, the two are never actually together in the tank. Also the female can't raise the babys, she will eat them, the male has to raise them, then of course you have to seperate the males all from each other after a certain point. They also have upwards to around 300 babies each time.

Its funny you brought that up, they're close cousins to the Gourami family. They also make bubblenests, and they are very peaceful fish only if you keep a pair per tank nothing can go wrong. I made the accident of adding a new Blue Gourami in with the existing Blue gourami that i have in the tank and what ended up happending, the bigger one bullied the little one in the the corner of the tank above the air stone and shortly after, it died :(. I still have that older blue gourami. If you ever back into to fish keeping. Without a doubt try Kribensis they are amazing fish. Very easy to breed and keep. They come from the rivers of Nigeria and some of the small lakes. Great fish for beginners, they are great parents also. If you ever have the chance to get these be sure to have some sort of cave or driftwood for them to hide in also some place for the female to retreat too

I think fishs are boring. And I think they should be free then going around and around some box... Only like cats and dogs are good pets... They dont survive in the wild so good as fishs...

Since you brought that up i'll tell you why, Fish are easier to raise, not only that but you can manipulate there habitat in the fish tank. Which also makes the fish even comfortable. People raise fish out of their own enjoyment also if the fish is an endangered species and they breed them. What do you think that means? Dogs and cates do survive in the wild how do you think we got them? To mean i hate cats, ever since i was little ive hated them. Dogs are alright just hate Chiwahchuas (or however you spell it).
