    I'm sure ATi is doing it now as well or atleast wouldn't eb surprised... otherwise there would eb little incentive to buy the higher end models... I was going to unlock my 7800GT and was quite saddened when I learned this.

    well i would get an 7800GS but from the reviews i read about them on newegg the AGP version it seems as if there are problems with a lot of them and my plan is to get a 6800 more then likey the PNY because they are more well know and ill wait till this time next year hopefully the price is like 200 then an d then ill get one

    yeah just get the 6800 GS, its proven being worthy of all games.. i play bf2 with it on high settings with highest resolution just fine with about 55 FPS

    on PCI-e the 6800GS are going for as little 160 so you won't be finding them any cheaper, and by then they won't eb good bang/$, already a 180$ 7600GT outperforms the 6800GS

    They only make the 7800 GS for AGP and I have heard that it overclocks like a beast with just the stock cooling but the stock cooling is a little bit noisy (but most of them are anyway). For best bang for your buck for PCI-E ... I would recommend the 256mb version of the x1800 XT ... only $249 on newegg and outperforms the 7800 GTX.
