Which one should i get? PNY GeForce 6800 GS / 256MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...82292&CatId=318 OR DiabloTek GeForce 6800 GS / 512MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1960935&CatId=0 OR Apollo NVIDIA GeForce 6800 / 128MB DDR / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV-Out / Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1820441&CatId=0
I'd rather go with something on newegg, theyre cheaper.. but out of those, id get the PNY one, they are good...
btw i just got a new psu upgrading from a 250W to a 500W this is it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817182003 is that good for the 6800's i posted
DiabloTek GeForce 6800 GS / 512MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1960935&CatId=0 i would go with that but check out.. globalcomputer.com or newegg.com Im currently building a computer and these sites are helping me alot with my budget and which parts i want.. I just bought a 320 GB HDD for $120 from NewEgg i think..
get the pny, have the pci-e version they should come factory overclocked with a lifetime warrenty too. they play any game on high settings and their easily overclockable, plsu its AGP so u might be able to get some more pixel pipelines out of it.
If you could wait for the 7600 GT to come out on AGP ... it would be worth it. The PCI-E version of it is better than the 6800 GS. Don't go for the Diablotek one with 512mb because for about $25 more you could buy a 7800 GS on newegg.
I currently use the 6800 GS 256 PCI-E, Love it. I generally run around 80-100 FPS on DOD source. I havent seen anything wrong with it yet. I would like to upgrade to SLi and see if I get any real performance boost, But I have heard you dont really see much improvement in game.
just don't make my mistake and get an ASUS 6600, its really a bunch of crap for me... my XFX 5500 was better, to a point...
all of those cards seem over priced and for the money spent you got a ---- PSU... sure it's RATED the highest maximum wattage in the price range, but just because a company rates it's product high doesn't make it good. There are people upgrading 650W rosewell PSUs to 480W enermaxes becasue the "650W" PSUs don't put out enough juice. as for cards, here are my two recomendations for AGP cards in the 100-200$ range x800GTO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102609 this if the rebate is cancelled or you don't want the hassle http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814131010 6600GT (performs on par with the standard 6800) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814170082 or if you're patient, wait for the 7800GS to come down a bit. it (well the 7800GT atleast)slightly outperforms TWO 6600GTs in SLI you'de be better off selling it and getting a single 7900GT
You can also get a Gainward Bliss Geforce 7800GS+, which is basically a 7900GT bridged to AGP. It's the third card over here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Onl...Series_363.html
also for the price diference between that and the regular 7900GT he could buy a new CPU/motherboard in a combo deal and just the regular 7900
Wow ... those are sweet. But if they have 20 and 24 pipeline versions ... that probably means that they are able to be unlocked in other 7800 GS cards or other companies will release versions similar to this later. That card is over $600 american ... whew. You could buy a new processor, motherboard, and 7800 GT or 7900 GT for near the same price like xelink said.
7 series cards are laser locked... that means they litterally have the pipelines cut away with a laser... won't be unlocking them anytime soon.
