Ok I want to play Oblivion on my computer, and these are my specs right now. Specs: Gfx Card w/ omega drivers Any tweaking I can do to get this to run well on low gfx?
Yes it is possible, if you want to make the graphics look about daggerfall. Oldblivion and all the down tweaks should suit you
Even on the lowest settings the char selection screen lags like hell...how would I make it even worser graphics so I can at least run it?
The mod Oldblivion http://www.oldblivion.com/ If that still doesnt work look for some FPS upgrades and do all of them. I saw some guys oblivion look worse than morrowind.
Wow, the grapihcs on CS:S look better then Oblivion on low settings and I can play that fine, that old oblivion stuff REALLY sucks, can't even see the sides of the walls...seems like im wall hacking.
Oblivion was meant to play with a mid-high graphics card, not a piece of ----, that is why it sucks. (it was meant towards hardcore elder scrolls gamers, so they could play it with their computer last upgraded in 2001 when morrowind came out) To be able to play it on mid you would have to upgrade your graphics card and processor, you dont even meet the miminum requrements, so unless you want oldblivion, upgrade.
it was also made to be played with a more modern CPU. Your CPU coordinates all those nice things, like the games physics engine(which includes character movement, gravity, shooting etc.), and keeping windows running in the background... which is nice seeing as everything would crash without it... my advice would eb too either see about OCing your CPU a bit(trust me it's worth $20, it's not that big a risk) to preferably the minimum 2ghz recomended and tossing in a new GFX card if possible. if you can get by on just OCIng both for about a month, try to buy a cheap CPU motherboard combo from a local retailer like Fry's for around 80-100 bucks and then get a newer card. as fo this moment the x800GTO is going for as low as 100 and it plays very well.
